The 11th of July is dubbed Truth Day, because someone spills Truth Serum into Seoul's water supply and it'll take a day to wash it out. Kyuhyun, the smart one, decides to drink bottled water. The rest of Super Junior, however, forget once or twice or even just accidentally swallow a bit of water during their shower.
They have an interview for something or other in the morning, and Jungsu's practised enough that he can pass off the lines easily, but when asked about his ideal type, chokes.
"Um, tall, slim, pretty..." he says, and the interviewer nods. He's ready to say Yoona like every other male has said in the industry, but instead, "Sulli," comes out.
"Sorry?" the interviewer says, visibly flustered. "Could you please repeat that?"
"No, no, he can't," Hyukjae says firmly and pushes Jungsu away from the mic and camera.
"Sulli is half your age," Shindong says later, raising an eyebrow, and Jungsu shrugs helplessly.
"You can't stop love?" he says weakly, and even Donghae gives him a judging look.
"Hyung... you have to stop at the law."
Heechul delightedly alerts Sulli of this new development by texting her.
"OH MY GOD," Sulli shrieks and flings her phone from her bodily self.
"What, what," comes from all four corners of their apartment.
Krystal delicately picks up the phone, reads the message, and reacts in the same manner as Sulli.
"OH MY GOD!"
"It can't be that bad," Amber says as she picks up the now heavily scratched and dented phone. She pales as she reads it, and Luna and Victoria read it over her shoulders. "I was wrong."
Victoria starts laughing, first silently until little giggles start escaping and she starts guffawing. Luna, on the other hand, makes an extremely disgusted face at the phone.
"Wow, that is gross on so many levels," she says, and promptly dismantles the phone.
It's mildly less exciting in the SNSD dorms, but not by much. They've taken Truth or Dare to the next level with the actual Truth Serum in the water.
"Do you like Kyuhyun?" Sooyoung asks Sunny, leaning in close as her eyes glitter dangerously.
Sunny makes a disgusted face and drinks the water, before firmly saying, "No."
Sooyoung sits back on her heels, disappointed.
"What about you, Sooyoung?" Sunny asks, eyebrows raised, and Jessica looks up from her phone. "Do you like Sungmin?"
Taeyeon pushes a glass of water into Sooyoung's hands, and Sooyoung drinks it. She lowers the glass slowly before clearing her throat.
"I refuse to answer that."
There's uproar.
"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!"
"THAT'S CHEATING, YOU'RE A CHEATER, CHOI SOOYOUNG!"
"I HATE YOUUUUU!"
Sunny sits back and grins. "So you do."
Sooyoung looks away, the blush in her cheeks enough.
The others start cat-calling and wolf-whistling like the extremely mature and sophisticated ladies they are.
"You can't tell him," Sooyoung hisses at them all, and Sunny just raises an eyebrow.
"New development!" Heechul calls, and everyone looks at him. "Sooyoung likes Sungmin!"
The rest of them look away disinterestedly.
"Old news," Shindong says, and Heechul frowns.
"Chunji, remember?" Donghae says and sprawls all over Heechul. "I love you hyung," he adds, and Heechul thinks he might be a bit drunk on Truth Serum.
Sungmin pokes his head around the doorway to his room. "I heard my name?"
"Think fast!" Sungmin dodges Heechul's phone. "Sooyoung likes you."
"Oh." He reads the message from Jessica slowly. "Well, that's nice."
"IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY!" Heechul shrieks and Donghae buries his head into Heechul's shoulder, apparently napping.
"But we're already dating," Sungmin says slowly and places the phone on the dining table. Heechul freezes.
"How did I not know this?"
Sungmin shrugs as he starts pouring a glass of milk. "Sooyoung didn't want anyone to know."
"YOU'RE DATING?" Jessica shrieks and Sooyoung covers her ears.
"I refuse to answer?" she says weakly and Tiffany leans over and starts shaking Sooyoung's shoulders.
"HOW DARE YOU KEEP THIS FROM US, HOW DARE YOU!"
"I love you, unnie," Sooyoung offers, and there's more shrieking in the SNSD dorms.
"This is ridiculous," Victoria says as she quickly puts Sulli's phone back together. "I'm sure you have more oppas across Korea lusting after you."
Sulli and Krystal cringe. "You didn't have to phrase it like that," Krystal says and Victoria shrugs as Sulli's phone beeps and lights start flashing.
"Oh hey, new message!" Victoria quickly clicks and Amber tries to cover the screen.
"YOU'RE DATING HENRY?" Victoria shrieks and Amber winces.
"Would you believe me if I said no?" she asks, scared.
"Go on, say it, you had some water today, didn't you?" Krystal says, suddenly recovered as she hovers over Amber, predatory.
"Nnnnnnnnnnnnn," Amber tries, but can't get the word out. "Maybe?"
Luna screams and claps her hands in delight.
"This is turning into one, giant SMTown orgy," Sulli says as she scrolls past the SOOYOUNG AND SUNGMIN??? message.
"I am so glad we're in Japan," Taemin says, heartfelt, as he turns off his phone.
