Nice day today.

Had my last class of the semester with pretentious Pontbriand. "The Pont" informed us that he would be pointing out different notes to study and what chapters in the text to read during today's class. We already knew that the whole of the test was going to be dedicated to WWII. So what does he says when he starts talking about the final? "Oh, all you need to study is the inter-war period (the time between WWI and WWII), the war itself, and post-war." Oh ok, so basically everything? Right. Gotcha. Thanks for narrowing it down for us. Jerkwad.

The only really humorous part of the class was when Michelle (bad breath, rotting teeth) raises her hand right after Pont finishes talking and says "Ok, those topics you gave us that were going to be on the final - I only got two - the inter-war period, post-war period, and what was the other one?"

:-\

Well, the war itself you moron.

On a more hip-hop-happier note, Matt, Juj, and I went to the beach this afternoon. Baker's Beach. 'Twas absolutely lovely. Rolled up our pants and had a nice walk along the beach. I was really excited about being able to walk in the water. I love the water. I love swimming. This is what I love most about summer. Of course, the water really isn't that warm yet, so my feet were somewhat freezing, but I don't care. I took two pictures from atop a sand dune of the beach. When I get the film developed, I'll try to remember to post them.

The only bad part of the whole experience was as we were walking through the waves, we passed the carcass of a dead sea gull. It wasn't lovely. It also made me a little depressed to see plastic bags washing to the shore tangled up in the seaweed.

It was funny to watch these two guys trying to surf in the water. The thing about the beach we were at is that it doesn't get good waves. At all. So here are these two ass monkeys trying to surf on these teeny tiny waves. Another problem is that they didn't paddle out far enough. Julia and I sat in the sand and watched them for about 15 mins. and I only saw one of them actually get up on the board - for about 10 secs. FYI kids, if you live in New England and want to go surfing, go to Newport, RI.

So, all good things must end, and Matt dropped me off at home where I had a ridiculous fight with my mum. Won't bother getting into it, as it was really stupid. And plus, we all know that I was right. :)

Saw Van Helsing with Matt, Juj, Krista, Danielle, Rachael, and Rachael's friend Sarah. Was entertaining. It's not really that great of a movie, but it's something that you can be entertained making fun of. Atleast the action is good. The whole time I was watching it, I couldn't help but think about how gay Dracula was, lol! When/if you see the movie, you'll see what I mean.

Even though it was a good day, there was a dark point. Upon hearing the news of the American contractor Nick Berg being beheaded by 6 Iraqi soldiers I was extremely shocked, disgusted, sad, baffled among other things. It was a very weird, for the lack of a better word, feeling. I mean, it's really isn't about this man being an American (though, naturally, that strikes a nerve). I just can't seem to wrap my mind around somebody being able to actually behead someone else. And then, they play the video over the 'net. I really wish all the different news outlets could stop showing the pictures, because they disgust me to the point where I feel the need to vomit... No joking. The same goes for the pictures of the tortured Iraqi prisoners, which is just as equally disgusting to me. But, you can argue that the public has a right to see these pictues. Fine. Whatever. I just don't think it's necessary to broadcast them as often as they do.

*Sigh*

Now, to change the subject completely, and end this entry on a much more chipper note...
