Also, this is my first SHINee fic, let alone my first fanfic, so constructive criticism would be nice ^^
Key sat in the classroom leaning back on his chair with his legs propped up on the desk in front of him. It was Thursday and he couldn't wait for the weekend to come. After all, he needed to go to the department store with his mother for some more shopping.
Jonghyun's not so quiet voice could be heard from the seat next to him. Key peered over to see what he was writing and singing every few seconds. The top of the page was titled "Juliette" and there were too many high pitched 'ohh's emitting here and there from his best friend's mouth.
He looked over to see TaeMin and Minho near a window laughing and talking together silently as Minho patted his hair affectionately. He sighed, Gawd when will this day end? Class wouldn't start for another 20 minutes, and he was already bored.
"Umma." TaeMin was now seated on top his desk by his feet, holding onto Minho's hand. "Umma~" he repeated again in a sing song voice. He started to call Key 'Umma' ever since the incident when TaeMin fell on Key's favorite spatula and Key comforted him instead of murdering him like he would've done to anyone else [ahem Jjong]. "We have a new student coming today! He's going to be in our class too! Isn't that exciting?!" he bounced up and down.
Key took out a lollipop from his pocket and opened the little wrapper before sticking it into his mouth. "Mm, tell me more about him" he said, the candy poking one side of his cheek. "I heard that he's training to be a singer in that entertainment company across the street." Minho stared at him with a look that questioned how he knew all of this when they haven't even met him yet. "Well of course I heard from this girl telling this other girl who heard from her be--" "Nevermind" Minho stated in the low voice of his that caused TaeMin to stop mid-sentence.
"10 dollars the new kid falls for our little Diva" JongHyun put in his input, resting from his songwriting session. Key smacked him across the back of his head. "Yah, don't be stupid." Jonghyun rubbed the back of his head scowling. "Well it's true; more than half the population of our school has a crush on the Almighty Key." Key smiled a little at this fact, but he bent his head down hiding his smile, pretending to be patting down and fixing his hair.
"It's true Umma! I swear almost everyone likes you!" TaeMin grinned, his eyes scrunching at the corners. Then his face fell. "But...why won't you accept anyone's feelings Umma?! I already have Minho [he blushed while stating this fact and Minho cleared his throat] and Jonghyun Hyung has that girl in the floor below us, Sharon. I know this because I saw them kissing in an empty staircase." He beamed, proud of his discovery.
"W-w-what?!" Jjong managed to spit out, but everyone chose to ignore him. "Oh, so that's who he's writing his song to, how cute." Key smiled, half mocking him. "S-s-s-shut up." JongHyun muttered, that also getting ignored. "Good job my son, I have taught you well." Key said smugly while patting TaeMin's hair. "But Umma~" TaeMin whined, "How come you won't accept anyone's feelings? I can introduce you to people you know. But I guess that won't be needed because you're the Almighty Key and everyone likes you. So I guess you just have to choose a person, but maybe that person doesn't like you yet, but that's crazy because everyone likes you. And even IF they didn't like my Umma then they would because nobody -----" "TaeMin, you're rambling." Minho said calmly. "Hehe, oh yeah." Key couldn't help but laugh at TaeMin's cuteness.
"Well....I'm just looking for someone with good cheeks." Key admitted proudly. Jonghyun erupted; his extremely loud laughter reaching every corner of their classroom causing everyone to look at him. Key, TaeMin, and Minho sighed and went back to shunning Jjong.
"Ohhhh!!!!! You mean like that guy from that childcare center we used to go to before he moved?" TaeMin bounced up and down at the mention of his "Appa" from his old memories. "Kekeke Umma, remember, remember, he gave you a kiss and everything!" TaeMin giggled. Key blushed, "Yah! Minho gave you a kiss too!" This caused Minho to shift in discomfort and TaeMin to giggle even more. TaeMin opened his mouth to say something when a student tripped into the classroom and fell on the floor.
Everyone in the classroom stared while TaeMin half ran, half skipped to the poor boy. "Hi! I'm TaeMin! You must be the new student!" he said enthusiastically while helping the boy pick himself back up. The teacher followed in behind them, "Ah TaeMin, Onew, this is TaeMin, you'll learn to like him, he's like everyone's younger brother to them that you can't help but love him." Their teacher praised him while smiling. Everyone slowly made their ways to their seats to listen to the teacher's announcement.
"Class this is Onew, I expect each and every one of you to treat him nicely. Okay you can introduce yourself Onew." Key stared at the boy in front of him. There was something about him that he couldn't put his finger on. "Um.." Onew laughed nervously. "My name is Onew and I hope we will get along with each other. Please take care of me." He grinned, and oh Key was lost. It was....those.....cheeks. He had a strong urge to walk up to him right now and squish them until the end of class, but he held himself back.
"Okay, Onew you can choose to sit wherever you want that is an empty seat. You guys still have 10 minutes before class starts." And with that the teacher left the room. The classroom was silent as Onew moved around to find a seat. He sat down and started opening his bookbag when he looked up to see everyone staring at him. He smiled again nervously, his eyes scrunching close together.
Key stood up and walked to Onew's desk. Onew looked up and opened his mouth to say hi but before he could say anything, Key shoved his lollipop into Onew's mouth. Everyone around them gasped, Jonghyun especially loud, except TaeMin and Minho. TaeMin was sitting in his chair laughing out of happiness at this wonderful déjà vu moment. Minho just stared before smiling a little and smacking Jonghyun across the head for Key. Key looked over and gave Minho a smile of appreciation. Jonghyun just sat there pouting while everyone in the class chose to ignore him, rather staring at Onew and Key.
They stared at each other for a while before Onew mumbled "Spatula". "What?" Key asked, clearly confused. "This is the part where I hit you with a spatula right?" Key burst out laughing, his clear laugh spreading throughout the classroom. "I guess," he replied before grabbing Onew's cheeks. "They're still soft and wobbly, just like how I remember them." This time Onew laughed, his cheeks scrunching together, making it easier for Key to grab them. "Well then do you remember what LeeTeuk and KangIn did?" Onew asked innocently, a glint of mischief appearing in his eyes. "I don't know, why don't you remind me." Key challenged back.
Onew stood up, leaning over to grab the back of Key's neck. He brought their lips close together softly. Key's hands automatically went to cup Onew's cheeks. Key pulled back slightly and whispered against his lips, "I thought it was just a kiss on the cheek." Onew smiled, "It was, but I like this better." "Idiot," Key muttered, pressing their lips back together again.
TaeMin giggled and laughed out of happiness, pressing his body closer to Minho while watching his Umma and his Appa. Jonghyun stood up, clapping while tears sparkled in his eyes. "This is the best reunion ever! It even beats the ones from the movies!" Key pulled back and blushed. "Shut up Jjong," Key ignored him once again and went back to the better things in life, which were of course Onew's cheeks and Onew's lips.
Okay this was my first time. Gah. How did I do? Did I stay kinda close to the characterization? I'm sorry I absolutely ruined SM Childcare Center. This was a fail xD I hope you guys enjoyed it though~ ^___^
