RANT Part ONE: Panic! At The Disco
Okay so, I ranted on Twitter for awhile, but am posting HERE, because I need more rant space..I need to vent, these bands are KILLING ME SLOWLY AND PAINFULLY. I shall now (re)post my thoughts (of course with embellishment and whatnot).
Panic! At The Disco~
So, I love P!ATD for their music, how it was different from all the other crap to me. I didn't at first granted, at first I was terrified of Porno Mime...which inevitably made me not listen to them for years. Then in 2007 I heard That Green Gentleman and I was hooked. I wanted the new album, I couldn't remember why teh band name was so familiar. I realised why soon after, but still wanted to get the new album, giving them a second chance. My dad went to a music store without me, and sadly my dad doesn't get the difference between albums and got me their first. So I gave it a listen, and realized that the singles on the album weren't the best songs. I loved the way it flowed together, and the story that was weaved through the beats. Finally after a long wait I got Pretty.Odd. at a Hastings in Longveiw, Texas...I still have the receipt. I played the living shit out of it.( still do). Of course once all the music has been memorized I move onto learning about the band and the members, I fell in love with them (lulz jk)
Seriously though, I thought they were really amusing people. And the way they acted around each other was just awesome, to see that close of friends being in a band that they loved. ( or so they made everyone believe) So anywho, they suddenly break up!
"WTF? I MEAN SERSIOULY!?" I said.
"Yeah Ryan and Jon are leaving LOL!" Brendon replies.
"We're gonna continue as P1Atd though, don't worry. We're not exactly 'still the same band' but OH WELL!" Spencer added in.
"Well...okay! Maybe it won't be horribly sad and make me want to bang my head against a brick wall!" I said cheerfully, smiling all the while.
Oh, but how wrong I was...just how wrong was I? Very.
What Brendon and Spencer are doing is keeping their fans from losing hope completely, yeah the new music sucks, but it's not a complete loss. I mean, they still play the old songs...even if they aren't right anymore. On a related note, I can't stand The Young Veins, I've tried..I really have...they need to stop doing drugs and STFU. Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross WERE the Lennon/McCartney duo of our time...but we all know how that ends.
On top of it all, the new Young Veins interview in AP magazine has not just Ryan (because it's expected), but JON (Yes Jonathon Jacob Walker, JWalk, JhonnyJay) bad-mouthing his FRIENDS. They play the old songs because the FANS need hope. Not just because they can't write ones themselves. Then Jon has the nerve to apologize on Twitter. ← (click to see "apology") AND NO...HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE BALLS TO DIRECT HIS COMMENTS @ THE PEOPLE HE SHAMED.
I don't know where this band is going, or where The Young Veins will end up. I just have a feeling Ryan Ross will imitate Jim Morrison, and OD/Get Alcohol poisoning, and die in a couple of years in Paris in a bathtub.
