Departure to Siberia - попытка перевода

All these and some additional circumstances literally pushed me out of the familiar spot in Moscow to  north-west Siberia, where I was going to be an English-Russian interpreter at oil drilling sites.

Если у вас есть друзья в Штатах с выросшими там детьми, то лучший вариант обратиться к ним за переводом. Тогда это будет настоящее англоязычное эссе. Сейчас оно выглядит переведенным неанглоязычным человеком (прощу прощения если чо).
Ну вот например с самого начала устойчивое словосочетание "насиженное место" переводится не familiar spot, a:
