“Shh, don’t say that,” he pressed his finger on her lips. “They’re just doing what they think is best for your family, Kels. This job will be great for your dad.”
“I don’t want to leave you,” she whispered.
“I’ll come and visit you, I promise,” his voice was just above a whisper, pulling her tight against his body as more tears fell.
