Year end
Taken from quite a few people.
1. Where did you begin 2008?
At my aunt's house, surrounded by family.
2. What was your status by Valentines Day?
The same as it has been for nearly half my lifetime (exactly half this coming Vday).
3. Were you in school anytime this year?
No.
4. Did you have to go to the hospital?
Only because it is where my doctor's office was located.
5. Did you have any encounters with the police?
Grrrrr, yes.
6. Where did you go on vacation?
California, Pennsylvania, Beijing, and Honolulu.
7. What did you purchase that was over €100?
More than I'd like to admit.
8. Did you know anybody who got married?
Yes, but I did not know them well.
9. Did you know anybody who passed away?
Yes.
10. Did you move anywhere?
Yes. From South Korea to the US.
11. What sporting events did you attend?
Just practice for the boy (Tae Kwon Do and Ice Skating)
12. What concerts/shows did you go to?
Bobby McFerrin, Chinese Acrobats, random street performances, Dan Crow, I'm sure a few more....
13. Describe your birthday.
Shared with a delightful 10 year old the day before a week long vacation. A very nice day.
14. What is the ONE thing you thought you would not do, but did, in 2008?
Moved. What was I thinking?
15. What have been your favourite moments?
Far too many to list. Realizing that I enjoy quilting, standing on the Great Wall, saying goodbye to "that teacher", landing in Honolulu, learning where we will move next...
16. Any new additions to your family?
None this year.
17. What was your best month?
April.
18. Who has been your best drinking buddy?
The boy. That child can down a glass of ice water faster than you'd imagine.
19. Made new friends?
Thankfully yes.
20. Favorite Night out?
A goodbye dinner in Seoul, just out with friends.
21. Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
Quilting class.
22. Have you lost any friends this year?
Yes, in that I moved and we will lose touch. So lost, but not in a bad way.
23. Change your hairstyle?
Yes, a few times.
24. Have any car accidents?
No.

36
26. Do you have a New Years resolution?
My last New Years resolution was--wow--10 years ago this year. My family likes to consult the I Ching on New Year's Eve, and when the coins landed for us they read "Revolution". Two weeks later the company I'd worked for for five years announced it was closing, and by the end of that yearzanla had joined the Army. I've never made another resolution.
27. Do anything embarrassing?
I have no doubt, but nothing memorable.
28. Buy anything from eBay?
Many things, all mundane.
29. Get married or divorced?
No.
30. Get hit on?
Yes, by an older gentleman in Waikiki. He was rolling (in his scooter-chair) down the street and stopped me to say hello. A few minutes later he was asking himself back to my hotel room. Beach boys still exist!
31. Been snowboarding?
Never.
32. Did you get sick this year?
Yes. A bronchial infection which took months to shake.
33. Are you happy to see 2008 go?
Only because I' looking forward to 2009, not because I'm ready for 2008 to go.
34. Been naughty or nice?
Nice
35. What are you looking forward to most in 2009?
Moving. (Or really, being settled.)
