One good turn deserves another - Part 7
Sian returned the kiss with as much passion as Sophie gave, as she slid her hands up through Sophie’s hair to pull her closer Sophie moved away, Sian opened her eyes disappointed. “Did I, was the kissing..” Sian began, “The kissing was amazing, but we can’t do this Sian, I gave you a chance and you denied me like everyone else, I can’t trust you not to deny me again” Sophie said tears welling. “Sophie please, look I was scared, I’m not like everyone else, I’m just me and I want to give us a shot”.
Sophie stood still pondering her thoughts. “I can’t Sian, I really wanted to, you’re the first woman that I’ve ever fallen in lo.. that I like okay and I can’t open up my heart to have it crushed, I’m sorry”. Sian wiped away tears falling with the back of her hand, she was unsure of her next move, if she left then Sophie would never trust her to be there for her, if she didn’t may be she was crowding her, she looked between Sophie and the door numerous times before her eyes settled back to Sophie.
“Sophie, I really like you, I more than like you and I can’t control my feelings, you think I want to feel like this” Sian yelled, Sophie was devastated may be she could have given them a chance, but Sian’s last statement had pissed her off. “You mean liking another woman, if there was a cure or something would you prefer that, Sian would you, if someone offered you a pill to cure your feelings for me would you take it?” Sophie said loudly, “Yes” Sian screamed, as if hearing her own answer she opened the door and ran.
Sian reached the bottom of the stairs before she comprehended what she had just done, what she had said, “No I wouldn’t take a pill, as what I feel is okay,” she said aloud to herself, she turned and ran back up the stairs and in to the studio, but Sophie had gone.
“Sophie, Sophie” Sian started to call making her way down a passageway, the cold corridor matched her feelings of remorse and guilt, she checked each open room in turn, but Sophie was nowhere to be seen, then suddenly remembering the balcony she made her way in to what was to be Sophie’s bedroom.
Sian was right, past the double bed and tv stand was Sophie stood on the balcony, she was leaning over it looking at the view below. Sian was about to leave again unsure of what to say to correct her hurt when she suddenly remembered something that Tina had said when she was last there
“Flashback”
“Sian, you listening?” Tina asked trying to sand the floorboards in Sophie’s bedroom, “Yeah” Sian replied getting the varnish ready, “Sian this is important, okay but remind me that the balcony needs to be supported, it’s not safe at the moment okay, you’ll remember yeah?” Sian nodded not really listening, she was thinking about Sophie.
“End of flashback”
“Shit, shit, shit” Sian said aloud, she ran over to the balcony doors, but Sophie had locked them “Sophie get off the balcony” Sian called through the near soundproof doors, “What?” Sophie called as a crack appeared in the concrete.
