Sian again opened the car door, she had been parked outside of Sophie’s for over an hour, she had many times decided to leave, but couldn’t, her phone rang again, she cancelled it Greg calling to check up on her. Sian turned off her mobile, she needed to do this, she had to talk to Sophie, she climbed out of the car and locking it she ran up the steps and knocked on the door.
Sian saw a figure walking down the stairs, she was greeted by Tina, “Yeah” she said yawning. “Sorry T is Sophie in?” Sian asked trying to control her nervousness, “Sophie’s asleep, ya know you’ve really hurt her”. Sian looked up at the anger on her face. “She told you?” Sian asked playing with her fingers, “Yeah she told me that you kissed her and denied it to Greg, ya know after all that Sophie’s been through how could you…” Tina began to say quietly but with visible anger. “What do you mean after all she’s been through, you’ve known her as long as I have, what has she said?” Sian whispered louder.
Tina thought for a second, “Look she’s told me stuff from her past okay, lets just say your lie tonight has created a memory, one that she had buried, if you want to talk to her then okay, but only stay if you feel the same about her”. Sian nodded “I do feel something, I’m just scared” Tina put her hand on her shoulder “So is she, but she likes you, I mean really likes you, don’t hurt her okay”. Sian nodded “See you tomorrow, tell her that I forgot to feed my cat or something” Sian smiled “Okay, bye”, she watched as Tina walked away and Sian walked up the stairs to Sophie’s living area.
Sian gently approached the sofa, Sophie was lay on it, her legs tucked up in the foetal position, Sian couldn’t take her eyes off her. Sophie let out a yawn as she turned over, her face now towards the tv, Sian gently moved towards her and stretched out her hand pushing away hair on her face. Sophie opened her eyes and jumped up startled.
“What the fuck Sian” Sophie said feeling very vulnerable, “I just….Tina said…” Sian started to say. “Tina said what? Where is she?” Sophie said sitting back on the sofa. “She went had to feed her cat” Sophie laughed, Sian’s face lit up hearing this, a beautiful melodic laugh, she wanted to hear her laugh more often.
“Where’s Greg?” Sophie asked relaxing back on the couch, “At the wedding, I couldn’t stay after…” Sian said looking at her feet. “Sian look tonight was a mistake okay, won’t happen again, is that all you came for to say sorry, not that you have said sorry just assumed you would..” Sophie started to say. Sian sat down next to her having not been invited to. “Sophie I’m sorry, I just panicked, I wanted to kiss you”. Sophie swallowed hard, but refused to let her walls down. “That’s nice, well I’m glad you got that out of your system, close the door on your way out”. She said walking up to her studio.
Sian paused for a second unsure of her next move, then she followed Sophie up the stairs, Sophie was in her dark room producing the photographs from the wedding, Sian saw her photos on the side, some she had printed as soon as she had gotton home earlier, as she picked up the ceremony ones she saw a beautiful photo, it was of her, Sophie must have taken it when she first entered the room, it was perfect and even Sian had to admit that Sophie was an amazing photographer.
Sophie emerged from the dark room and was shocked to see Sian stood there. “I thought you’d gone” she said putting the photos down, “I can’t, I can’t go until I say what I need to say, what I want to say” Sian stuttered “What’s that?” Sophie said stepping closer tot the blonde who was getting flustered under her intense glare.
“I wanna say that I really like you Sophie, and I don’t know what to do, you make me feel things I’ve never felt before and when we kissed, it was amazing, I can’t stop thinking about you and I am sorry about earlier, I would really like to give us a shot, or not, whatever you want..” Sian stuttered, seeing her struggling to speak Sophie stepped forwards and kissed her.
