It passed!!!!
The over ride passed this week in my school dictrict, which, according to people who have lived there all their lives, is monumental. An over ride has never passed there, until now. I would like to believe the band had a little to do with it, since we played at both rallies. However, I don't want to rejoice too much because even with the over ride passing, twelve teachers still lose their jobs. I hope they all have luck finding new ones.
John passed his Orals (yay!) which means now he can graduate. He is in the process of finding a job...no bites yet.
This coming week is our band fundraiser, Taste of the Towns. Restaurants bring samples of their food and people can go around trying them, the band will play a pops program, and also we will have chamber groups. If you are interested, let me know.
Speaking of pops.....tonight is the orchestra pops concert at UMass. I am working at it (i.e., passing out tickets) since they don't give comps for this, being a fundraiser. They were auctioning off the chance to conduct Stars and Stripes Forever.....we put our cats name in....she didn't get it. Wonder who did?
