I have been ill the last couple of days and so haven't been going to see Georgy. This morning I felt a bit better so decided to go up to him and attempt to hack him out. Woke up to darkness. Mucked out in darkness. Groomed him in....yup, you guessed it...DARKNESS!!!
When did it get so dark? We got our hack but had to hi-viz ourselves to kingdom come as it was sort of semi-dark when we left the yard. He was a complete star although a bit on his toes after his three days of rest.
The fresh air did me good and although I still have a sore throat and lingering hacking cough, I wrapped up well and felt ok.
Got home and decided it was the ideal time to swop summer clothes for winter clothes. I despatched Richard up in to the loft and he brought the storage boxes down. After washing anything that had got a bit dusty and switching the summer stuff into the boxes, I now have a wardrobe ful of sweaters, long-sleeves and fleece.
I repeat - Summer is over!
Tomorrow three friends and I are going to the Horse of the Year show at Birmingham NEC. Really really been looking forward to it. We go every year and always have a brilliant time. Last year we got to witness a very famous showjumper part company with his olympic horse after said olympic horse didn't like the look of a jump. Always nice to see that even the famous can be caught out!
The shopping of course is amazing and I do save up a bit every month to spend here. I have about £100 and the beauty is that it is guilt-free as I've put a bit away here and there in a tin. Last week I emptied it out and discovered there was more than I thought. I also discovered my lovely hubby has been chucking the odd £1 coin into it to boost the 'mad-money' fund.
Not sure what I'll buy - the only rule is that I buy something for ME. George gets lots of stuff throughout the year. This is for me to squander wastefully on things I don't need.
