twenty minutes after meeting me, she looked at me and smiled. "you should stay forever." and she could have asked me to shave my head at that moment, and i'd have said yes. children just get me. and an adorable four year old girl telling me that she thinks i'm wonderful and wishes i could be around always just warms my heart.

some day i'll be a mother. and maybe, if i'm lucky, i'll turn out to be as good as my mom is/was/will be. until then i'll practice with the neighbors' kids.
