As soon as their eyes met Alex’s golden brown eyes widened and he tried to scramble back further into the dirtier part of his hiding spot, he was so scared. He, no, this was way too early to be found. Stupid! Alex felt so fucking stupid for letting himself get too close so he was viewable to the public. He could feel his heart pounding against his ribcage and his breathing was coming out louder than he wanted- he wished he could go invisible, oh shit.

Before he can scramble to be invisible from the man his mattress is being pushed out of the way and the large bin is being pulled and wheeled slightly away. Jack raised an eyebrow at the dirty male behind the bin; he looked like he had been there a while. His chin, jaw was covered in dark brown stubble, his golden coloured hair was a matted flop on his head and his eyes were drooping with sleep. What was he doing sleeping behind a bin?

Alex watched as his little home was pulled apart and he pulled his jogging bottom clad legs were pulled to his chest, head ducking and hiding into the folds of the grey, dirty material. He wanted to cry. He couldn’t handle going back into prison, no, he had only just escaped for fucks sake. And when the mysterious stranger tried to reach out for him and pull him up, he lost it.

At the next chance he got, he pulled the trick some girl on the streets had showed him a few years ago for self-defense, hit the boy’s knuckles, and ran. Only this time, he wasn’t exactly successful. He didn’t even reach the end of the street before the other man had caught up again, because despite seeming younger than Alex he sure was tall and therefor (and for the small fact that Alex hasn’t eaten properly for a while now) was a lot faster. When he reached him, he grabbed his arm again, only harder this time, to make sure the elder didn’t run again, and spun him around to face him.
"So, where do you think you're going, eh?"
"Just let me go, okay?! Leave me alone!"
"Sorry honey, not gonna happen. Just so you know... I've seen your picture in the newspaper today. I know who you are."
Well, fuck. So much for letting it die down. Appearently a thief on the run wasn't as unimportant as he thought. So, how do people say? Attack is the best defense? Time to test that one.
"So? Aren't you afraid that I'm gonna rob you or something?"
"Are you kidding? I know more about you than you know about me. You aren't one for violence. Just a simple thief. But it looks like today's your lucky day. I don't plan on telling on you. At least for now. You can life with me."
At that, Alex just stood there, dumbfounded. Was this guy nuts?!

A/N: Omg I'm so sorry for not updating for so long :(
So, as you maybe still remember, I started this story as a collaboration with willowbarakitty. Well, appearently she deleted her livejournal without telling me. And I wasn't able to write because lately I've been running from one doctor to the next while trying to prepare for all the exams I have to write now so yeah.. not exactly nice. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, I'm really sorry for taking so long and that this chapter is so short! And to be honest, I have no idea if I can keep doing this. If one of you wanted to collaborate with me: just message me or leave a comment, I beg you! Otherwise, I'll probably have to stop posting for a while, besides some oneshots maybe (but I'll try to keep up!). I'm really sorry! I hope you like this, though...
