We were out at the local 7th day advantist school, which is closed. Or has so few students I never see any. Their fields are HUGE, and good for running the hell out of Bodie.
A friend of ours brought her dogs with, Bodie likes her, and pretends her puppy Bruce Wayne doesn't exist.
The Dogs are as follows...
Bodie: blue merle aussie

And Sully doesn't wrestle in a park there for I see no reason to bother removing the prong collar. He isn't likely to get hurt by it considering his only goal at the park is to chase a ball. Bodie is a far bigger threat to him.
Bodie wears a prong collar when in public, period. No exceptions. He's too big a risk to leave with out the emergency break.

I however left it on Sully out of sheer laziness. He wasn't in any danger of wrestling with another dog and getting hung up on it, as his only interest is to chase the ball. So rather than worry about taking it on and off and what to do with it while it's off, I left it on.
And Bodie wears it for safety reasons. He's a dangerous dog and if I have to grab him quick, I want to be able to ensure the emergency break kicks in and puts a stop to whatever he's thinking. Bodie also wears a basket muzzle in public unless he's some where I can trust the behavior of the people and other dogs not to set him off.
And most working dog trainers leave the prong on during bite work training etc etc even off leash in case a correction has to be given during an exercise. And with Bodie he's too big, powerful and dangerous to not have an E-break on. He doesn't wrestle with dogs either, he's only interested in chasing the ball, so again it's not a big risk to him that another dog is going to get caught up on it.

Someone needs to take that prong collar off stat, though. I've seen too many dogs at dog parks get hurt when trying to play with a dog wearing a prong. :[

And Bodie wears one whenever we are out in public, for the safety of others. He's too dangerous to not have the e-break on. Further more he doesn't play with other dogs, so there is no risk to him.
And Sully doesn't play with other dogs at the park either. He's too busy trying to convince any one and every one with in eye shot to throw a ball for him.
And neither picture was taken at a dog park. Just so happens I have five dogs, my room mate has one, and my friend has two. Not a dog park, just a place where the dogs were gathered. And while there are risks to the prong being left on during play, Bruce isn't my dog, it's not my call.

This isn't advise--go ahead and let your pal choke his dog half to death; I'm not asking you to advise this person on training--this is a request to be considerate of other dogs' safety. When someone else or their dog affects you or your dog's safety, you have every right to speak up. You might even say you have an obligation.
But hey, whatever. S'up to you.

No really, I named my Corgi Alfie. Short for Alfred, short for Alfred Pennyworth. Short for - "The Lamborghini, then. That's much more subtle".

But it all spawned from --- I always wanted a German Shephred and I wanted to name him Batman. To the point that my boyfriend has named given Batman names to the wish lists of breeds.
