What a stupid way to start the year. Mother has taken to having fainting spells (that look utterly fake, in my opinion), and Edmund spent the hols with Dementors in Azkaban. At least I have Hogwarts to look forward to; At least I have Pans and Draco there; I had an invite to New Year's at the Burrow, but I declined due to the state of Mother's

You failed to mention that all 'tea' will, of course, be spiked with all sorts of alcohol, including muticoloured liquids and weird fizzing things that Draco found under his bed. Or is that a given?
