Create a TV Show

So Here's my tv show. And now I want this to be an actual show. I mostly went off of what I did for my original character with a few tweaks.

Title: Independence

Summary:

Humanity spread out from Earth and colonized the planets and moons of the solar system. Some, like Mars were terraformed to be suitable for human life. Humanity created the Great Terran Empire. For centuries, peace and justice reigned. Gradually, though, the Empire became corrupt. The people of the colonies began to lose their rights as power was consolidated on Earth. Tensions began to mount as all protests were violently crushed. The people of the colonies finally rose up and rebelled. Vastly different cultures united themselves under the common goal of independence and the right to make their own decisions.

In 2842 the Martian Independence went undercover to investigate reports of outlawed atomic weapons being used by Terran forces under the command of Captain Theresa Smith. Although they were able to find the evidence they sought, they were discovered. The only survivors were thirteen-year-old Aurora Smith and seven-year-old Melody Smith who were placed in an escape pod by their parents.

Fourteen years later, Captain Aurora Smith commands the second Martian Independence. Under her guidance, the crew of the Martian Independence fights the Terran Imperial Fleet and protects the people of the colonies. The war is not going well for the colonies. Although the Independence is just a minor ship in the United Colonial Fleet, it will soon come to be the most important player in the war.

Characters:

1. Captain Aurora Smith (Emilia Clarke)

Aurora Smith is the youngest captain in the United Colonial Fleet at twenty-seven. She is a fierce fighter who earned her rank in battle. She became captain after the previous captain was killed. She is protective of her crew and of her sister. She is brilliant and a natural leader, but she is inexperience and can be rash at times. She needs the guidance of her more experienced first office. She inspires fierce loyalty in her crew. She is confident and sure of herself, sometimes to the point of arrogance. She is devoted to her job. In the little bit of spare time she has, she studies ancient history and martial arts. She is also a bit of a free spirit. She is not ready to settle down and has probably slept with at least one man or woman in every Colonial ship, planet, or moon.

2. Commander Katrina Thompson (Gina Torres)

Katrina Thomas has been in the military a long time. At forty-three, she has seen and knows a lot. She has never wanted a captaincy of her own. Instead, she enjoys training new captains in the realities of war and life. Her cautiousness is a good balance for Captain Smith’s rashness. She has a keen mind for strategy. Having seen so much combat, though, she can be cold and withdrawn at times. She tends to bury her feelings to avoid feeling pain. She was sent to the Martian Freedom following a disastrous battle that left everyone on her former ship dead. She and Aurora bond over their losses, but she is still traumatized.

3. Doctor Lucas Edwards (Kit Harrington)

Doctor Lucas Edwards was just passing through. He is a twenty nine-year-old recent medical school graduate and civilian who was being transported to the Io Colony by the Independence. When the ship’s doctor is killed in a skirmish along the way, Lucas decides to stay on and help. Lucas has a history with the Independence and with it’s captain. His parents were both military members who were stationed on the Independence. He grew up on the ship, and Aurora was his best friend. Lucas never intended to enlist. He believes in the cause, but he does not want to ever have to fight himself. He was content with the idea of helping through medicine. Being on the Independence is difficult for him, but without any possible replacement, he feels honor bound to stay. Lucas also has begun to develop feelings for his best friend. However, Lucas is the settling down type. He wants a relationship, and he knows she is not interested in that. So he contents himself with being her friend.

4. Lieutenant Andrew Roberts (Dayo Okeniyi)

Lieutenant Andrew Roberts is the ship’s twenty-three year old pilot. He is the son of the ship’s previous captain, Captain Jack Roberts, whose death led First Office Aurora Smith to take command. He often feels like he stands in his father’s shadow, and he strives to live up to Captain Roberts’s legacy. He is a hard worker and avid reader in his spare time. He is also in love with and dating Ensign Melody Smith.

5. Ensign Melody Smith (Emma Watson)

Melody is the sister of Captain Smith. At twenty-one, she shares her sister’s rashness and adds a temper to match. She works in the ship’s engineering department. Aurora is protective of her sister and tries to keep her out of harms way, which makes Melody angry. Melody feels like she has a duty to fight for the cause her parents died for, and she has a stronger hatred for the Terran Empire than her sister does. She is dating Andrew Roberts, who is a calming presence in her life.
