This weekend
Will be more sedate. I'll see about poking my nose around Hempfest Saturday, but I'll have to be mindful of the timeframe, as I'm on call that weekend and may have to come back to work if there's a critical issue. Marajuana legalization is on the low end of my list of issues. I'm in on it because Moon's a friend, and because I'd say that we have bigger fish to fry as a society than hunting down some guy who wants to light up, feel a bit stupid, and inhale Doritos. I've had a second-hand buzz (Evergreen grad, 'nuff said), and I've been drunk. I actually prefer the former, though I disliked the fact it made me mellow to the point where Dick Cheney could break into my apartment, steal my stuff, and pee on my rug (ala Big Lebowski), and I'd not care.
I'm sure that the mellowing/zonked-but-not-unconscious effect would be GREAT for helping the nervous types face dental surgery anxiety, provided it doesn't react negatively to the nitrous oxide or novacaine...
I'm also slated to come in a bit early tomorrow. One of the fellows wants to spend some time at his little girl's birthday party. I'm totally in favor of this notion. Besides, it's a bit extra pay for me.
Sunday, I'm scheduled to donate platelets again. Supplies are low, guys. If you can roll up a sleeve and meet elligibility, the Puget Sound Blood Center really wants your help. As platelet donation is a great excuse for bringing a DVD and chilling, I'm thinking Alice in Wonderland (Disney 2010) for this round. After? Well, pizza from the place down the street and more reading for my certifications. I've penciled in October for taking my A+ cert (I know, elementary certification, but I still would like to say I did it).
