Who: Batman, Lex Luthor
Where: The Fortress of Solitude
What: Someone needs to be smart about this.
Lex stood a few feet beyond the entrance to the Fortress, one of Superman's spare capes wrapped around him. The Arctic wind howled past him, stinging his skin, and his feet were ankle deep in snow. He ran through an inventive list of curses regarding aliens who kept their hostages naked, and scanned the sky for a familiar black shape.
"Alexander of the House of Luthor, you are one meter away from the boundary Kal-El has set for you," called Jor-El's voice from within the Fortress. "If you proceed further, I will be forced to retrieve you."
"What are you going to do?" Lex asked, shivering. He was rapidly losing feeling in his fingers and toes. "You're a giant crystal computer with the personality of Superman's dead father. The only way you could be more ineffective is if you had to speak in binary or something."
"This structure is equipped with lasers."
"He stole that idea from me, you know."
"Your body temperature is dropping," Jor-El said, sounding as meditative as a computer could. "I have also been instructed to prevent you from harming yourself."
Lex rolled his eyes and wondered if it was possible for his teeth to chatter so hard they cracked. "I'm not trying to kill myself, I'm waiting for-" He heard the familiar sound of a helicoptor, and squinted up into the sky. A rapidly growing black dot was angling straight for the Fortress, and Lex smirked.
"Took your damn time, Bruce."
