Let's get down to business

Who: The JLA
Where: Fortress of Solitude
What: To defeat the Huns
Warning: None

For the first time in a long while, the Fortress was buzzing with noise. As members of the newly-reassembled Justice League arrived, Superman was at the entrance to greet them, house key in one hand, the other outstretched for a shake. Robots directed them to their seats at the table-newly cut and polished marble, a circle 12 feet in diameter, each member's name cut into the rim and plated in gold-and wheeled in various bits and pieces of technology from all over the Fortress, in preparation for the discussion ahead. When the job was done, all seats filled except for one, the robots vacated. Only 221 remained, standing by the main console to assist.

With a final, mental run-through of the list of members, Superman pulled the huge stone door back down, and locked it with a click that echoed in the sharp Arctic air. His boots made soft taps against the stony floor as he strode through the hall and entered the meeting chamber.

So many faces, some familiar and some less familiar. Deep breath. He hadn’t done this in a while. Hadn’t needed to.

He walked confidently up to the last empty chair, pulled it out, and stood in front of it, hands together at his back.

“I’d like to open this meeting of the Justice League of America by thanking you all for being here. It’s truly an honor to support and be supported by individuals such as yourselves, and I have no doubt that in the coming days, we’ll do much good work together against the new evil that is the Legion of Doom. I’m sorry the circumstances of our meeting couldn’t be happier, but we're here to change that, and I promise you, I'll be giving it 100% right alongside you.

"Lex Luthor plans to blow up the moon. I must first clarify that I am not in a relationship with Leo Quintum. It was a guise to goad Luthor into action. The advantage of this was being able to predict his target. Knowing Luthor as I do, I foresaw that his jealousy and his irrationality would point him towards the most obvious action: destroying the object of his jealousy. I'm the first to admit that this was a risk, but in light of directing his destruction beyond Earth, to what is essentially a control space, I believe I made the right choice.

"Luthor's insanity is a weakness as well as a strength. His actions are unpredictable, but irrational. This is not the Lex Luthor we've grown to love, but a caricature; a shadow of his former self. At the same time, he is not to be underestimated. He remains one of the greatest geniuses of our time, and that must be taken into account in all of our decisions.

“Finally-- I'm sure you're all raring to get out there and act, so I'll try to make this quick--I’d like to welcome all of our new members. It doesn’t matter if you’ve just arrived here from another dimension, another century; if you’re from another organization, or even if you consider yourself a freelancer. We’re all equals here, and we're all in this together. With that in mind, I’ll open the floor to anyone who has a word on the current situation.”
