talked to Andrea today. she asked "how's my peach?" which was really sweet. it made me smile. I talked to her for awhile and that was awesome. it felt so good to talk to her, even if it was the first time we ever talked on the phone. watched the snow storm this morning and watched someone driving a snow plow trying to clean off the side walk and a few times I watched him going "what the hell is he doing?" because where he was trying to clear the snow, or pushing the snow made no sense. case in point, in clearing out part of a path at the front door he pushed a bunch of snow up to the door on the right side under an awning. okay, well at least the pile of snow won't get more snow on it, so that's good I guess. *shrugs*
oh, check it! (say that like Ali G because that's how it was meant when I wrote it). I made an Allison sign and of course I pierced it. well, I drew on a gray barbell piercing through two parts of the "A". the more I stay here the more I want to act like Stewart from Mad TV. "LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!" or tie my bed sheet around my neck like a cape and run up and down the halls saying I'm Superman.
editor's note: I found out this would have been a really bad idea and would have got me medicated more and kept in the hospital longer. good thing I asked one of the nurses about my idea before actually doing it. good lord. me trying to have a little fun and get back to my old self and it would have got me locked up in a quiet room and medicated. people in psych wards have no sense of humor, I swear.
So I've been here a few days, let's talk about people.
Staff
Miriam - tall black lady who does the administrative stuff. she's really cool, really awesome, and very New York sounding.
Dr. Rosen - she's my Dr. she's awesome. awesome, awesome, awesome. tall, medium length dark hair, very personable and easy to open up to.
Emily Brown (like the color) - I already mentioned her. she's petite, dark blonde hair, small frame, very cute, very easy to talk to and open up to. she's as awesome as Dr. Rosen. she pulled this getting home thing together for me. she's the kind of girl you could take home to mom because she's just that cute, that sweet and that nice. and she graduated from UF. I used to hate UF because of a previous ex. now, thanks to knowing some awesome (and hot) people who go or are going to UF I don't hate it as much. (Michelle, yes I meant you as well)
Agit - (pronounced AH-gee) - OMG. he's this cute black guy who shaves his head. he's adorable, I love his smile. he's funny too and dresses well. average height for a guy.
Shane - OMG..another cute boy! he's cute, black, nice and he's got DREADS! omg! 2 cute boys! sucks being boy crazy and I can't even try to flirt with them either! ("so..when I get discharged you want to maybe go out for a drink or something?" - yeah, like THAT would work)
Angelique - Indian nurse who is cool as hell! (editor's note: found out she's from Sri Lanka) she has been totally cool with me, asking me questions about transitioning and stuff.
I should write about more people but those are the main people who are within my view today, so that leads me to....
THE CRAZY PEOPLE
Doris - OMG..where to start about her? she's nuts. she's out there. she had this song today, I'll call it "Alouette (tourette's remix)" and it goes a little something like this:
(if you know the french song by the same name, just follow the rhythm)
Alouette, Alouette
fuck you bitch. fuck you bitch.
it's a chart-topper, ya know. she bites. she scratches. she kicks. she punches. she spits. you never know what she is going to do next. she stared at me for a few minutes one day and then said "I hate you, mother." weird.
Julia - a sweet grandmother. she's like..80. tiny, hispanic, just generally sweet. she was a soap opera star back in the day. either that or she watched A LOT of Telemundo. she tries to hit on me, too. she's felt my arms a few times and lord only knows what was going on in that head of hers while she was doing that. I'll bet she was picturing me naked.
Barbara - OMG. needy. talkative. forgetful. sweet old lady. don't get me wrong, she's a dear of a grandmother who you just can't help but love. as needy and forgetful as she is she's just so sweet that you look past it. of course she bugs the hell out of her social worker and we now have a catch phrase whenever she asks for anything. it was coined by her social worker and we (me and the nurses) kind of adopted it. any time she asks for anything the usual response is "not right now, Barbara". for everything! it's actually kind of funny. hell even Barbara started saying it.
Sulay - as bad as it sounds, I actually thought she was lesbian. until I saw her husband. oops. she's really nice, doesn't speak any English. and she's the only patient I have seen here who wears eye makeup daily. this awesome silvery eye shadow. I have no idea what country she is from but I would like to know.
Carmen - older dark hispanic lady who needs a walker. she mainly talks in Spanish but can converse in English. she was telling one of the nurses about her jerk of a husband, well, she called him a motherfuck.(er?)
Some people here are way too sensitive, crying over little things. getting angry over little things. I swear I feel kind of like Wynona Rider in "Girl, Interrupted". I swear once I get discharged I am buying a pack of cigarettes and a slice of pizza as soon as I'm back out into the world. I'm going to chain smoke all the way to the subway station. I'm going out into the hallway to see what's going on.
slight change of plans. not staying with Marcie and Eric. but I may be staying with Mom and Dad. we'll see.
so far I have talked with: Alli (love you, near twin!), Andrea, Marcie & Eric, Vera. Alli played secretary for me for my LiveJournal and Myspace. THANK YOU ALLI!! *hugs*
...more as I write it up...the story continues...
