YES! This is exactly how I feel about people who use one quote from the Bible to excuse their hatred, prejudice, and discrimination against homosexuals.

Be prepared, this is a long one:
How can you say that the old testament is dead when a lot of the new testament is largely based on the teaching of the ten commandments. No, some of them don't mean much, but don't use stories and example of them in teaching if you don't back them up 100%. And the words translated into homosexual from the mere 3000 word greek language Paul wrote many of his letters in mean man copulator, which means men who lie, as in sex. A few bias roman catholics translated this into men who lie with other men when Paul is actually referring to men who lie with other women in the Temple of God. This is referring to the beginning of Romans, and there are many other New Testament quotes I can prove wrong. Even so, the Bible shouldn't be used as a basis in the banning of gay marriage; I'm sure this was defined as the separation of church and state.
Besides all this, the whole gay marriage thing is discrimination- a few people who think their "morals" are the right ones feel they can force them on everyone else whenever they feel they are being threatened. Why should they care about what two men do? It's not their life, but somehow it affects them. When these people see how judgemental and discriminatory and hateful they are, they can give me a new definition of their so-called "morals". Until then, how I choose to live my life based on my natural implications and feelings should be no one else's damn business (unless their my friends and I want them to know)

those are good arguments, and i'm glad that you have a gumption that few others have, in finding out about yourself and what you think is right. it's hard to find power in your Christian words though, when you curse, and hate the haters.

I don't hate anyone, especially the haters, whom you've represented whether you think it or not, but I do admit I'm bitter- and I'm perfectly fine with that because I've put up with people who think I'm going to hell way longer than I should have, especially those who are my friends (its not just you); and I don't THINK I'm right, I firmly BELIEVE and KNOW I'm right, just as you believe in your convictions- don't judge my beliefs just because they're different than yours. I don't want to start a big argument because I like you as a friend and I don't want something like our opinions to leave a lasting impression. I'm also very upset this nice, non-angry opinionated entry turned a little mean, and I take responsibility for it, especially with my first comment. You can comment on this because its ok if you want to put in the last word, but I wont say anything more.
