About my fics from now on.

As much as I've not wanted to fall to this and all, until there's another alternative, I might be friendslocking my fics that are R and NC17. I did make a community a while ago over the first strikethrough where I had intended to crosspost my job, but instead I think that I might be just posting the fic there and locking the risky fics to friends ( Read more... )

Yeah, it sucks a lot. And the next few days I'm probably going to be 'spamming' some communities as to erase the links of the NC17 fics I've crossposted to my journal and have them only in the communities under a members-only lock, which will also suck. This whole business is made of suckiness.

Mmmm, according to one of the people who got erased, she still could get in another journal she had, and a comm she had made wasn't erased, but who knows with the last things LJ has been doing.

:) I promise I'll let know when everyone can join and not risk getting spammed to death by my fic.

I think the only way to really avoid the getting banned for the risky stuff and to NOT look like an elitist while doing it is posting the R/NC-17 stuff to the communities themselves under friendslock. Which doesn't appeal a lot to me. D:

But honestly? It's going to take a LOT of bullshit from LJ before I actually start changing the way I operate. I'm pretty tolerant, even when I shouldn't be, I suppose.

It's what I'm going to be doing, sadly, which I still think it's utter bullshit. I'm already crossposting to the community I made anyway, and most of my stuff is going to be there but still, it's annoying.

More than anything is the way they're doing everything, darling. It's their site. They don't want some stuff? I might not agree with them, but hey, it's the playground. I just wish they'd be CLEAR about it instead of going through it and backstabbing.

Personally, I don't think f-locking is going to make any difference at all. If it's questionable content, it still stays questionable content. LJ can very well look at f-locked posts, because yeah, they're on their servers. And from what I've read, the artworks that recentlöy got those two artists banned were both f-locked posts to their comm and lj STILL deleted their whole journals.

Call me a pessimist, but I'm not sure it's worth all the hassle. The only way of staying safe would be making sure your fics can never get reported to lj abuse, and while a member-by-request comm would limit the number of people who can see your fic, how would you recognise a potential WFI or PJ sockpuppet journal?

So really the only way to keep your fic safe is to make sure nobody knows about it, which entirely defeats the purpose, really.

I heard the same about at least one of the people's art being f_locked. I'm still not sure where I'm taking my toys, but I'm still annoyed.
