Okay okay - finally went and saw the new Pirates movie with Odile, Evey, and my brother. The Verdict is:

Yes!
BARBOSSA!!!!
Pirate lords
Keith Richards
Battle in the maelstrom!!
Sexy-chest-wound Will

No!
Jack's crazy multi-personality stuff. Not funny, really.
Dead Kraken. I did not think I could feel sad for a big, slimy, evil squid, but I did.
Non-scruffy Norrington
Goddess Calypso = really really tall Tia Dalma? Lame.
...while Jack and Elizabeth PARACHUTE to safety! (Wait...what?)

In general, I really, really loved the movie. The pirate movies, as gimmicky and trite as they can be, kind of make my life. But I think it's time for it to be over now, actually. I know that there are rumors of a fourth movie, but...geesh. What else can they do?

Getting my hair cut again tomorrow - my bangs are getting mildly ludicrous, and it takes a ton of hair-spray to keep them out of my eyes.

I'm kind of considering putting off reading the 7th Harry Potter book, after it comes out. There is too much else I want to read, and Deathly Hallows just plops down right in the middle of my reading list and elbows other books out of the way to make room for itself. Of course, I'd have to avoid the internet for weeks, until I read the books. I might not even be able to go out, for fear that I'd have something huge ruined for me. And I'd have to avoid all of my friends, because that will be what they all want to talk about. So maybe it's not worth it to put it off. I'm just really unexcited about it, though. Not like I'm dreading it - I'm just sort of hmm about it. It also kind of troubles me that I should have to weigh the serious social consequences of not reading a children's book, seeing as I'm nearly twenty. Bah. I'll probably buckle and read it, regardless.

I start work on June 4th. Kind of nervous, as it's my first real real job. But we'll see - in all likelihood, it will turn out great. But I now have less than a week left of old-fashioned-do-nothing-sleep-in summer, which is kind of sad.
