The Cuban pianist my dad works with is taking his whole family to visit relatives in Havana, but he needed help booking the tickets to Miami online. So, last night he brought his kid, his wife, and all his in-laws over--all from Cuba, all speaking in Spanish--so that my folks could walk them through the ticketing process. I received my offer of financial aid from UW, only to find that said aid was...spare. I qualify for all kinds of nifty, fancy, low-interest loans, but not much else. I’ve heard nothing from the scholarships I applied for, either. Guess I’d better start applying for 2011…

Wednesday was my very last shift in Visitor Services. As luck would have it, I worked our 21 and over OMSI After Dark shift, which is always fun: first off, they gave all of us free samples of FUDGE; second off all the customer who come in are happy, usually on dates, and most likely drinking; third off, no children. So the dentist proved to be less traumatic than I'd feared! I found this particular doctor through the interwebs, and by the grace of the tooth gods (would that be the Tooth Fairy?) I normally use that super organic bare minerals or burt's bees eye make-up (I'm sensitive, don'cha know), but in honor of my first day out in public in a frickin' week I tried to change it up a bit with some magic, shimmery, uber-synthetic eyeshadow made of awesome.
