Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day 6
I'm posting most of the Snowflake Challenge stuff on DW, but since these are all lj comms, I decided, for the sake of ease and stuff, to make this post here.
Day 6 says to pimp some of our favorite comms (especially the less active ones). So here are 3:
vintagefic - all about the fandoms that are either set pre-WW II or are "historical fantasy" type fandoms (like GoT). I mean, come on, historical stuff is so much fun (and can be so pretty, you know with all those dresses and palaces and stuff :) )
history_bigbang - same these as the above but it's a BigBang! I kinda like the challenge of a Big Bang as I'm pretty bad at writing and actually finishing long fics. Again, the more historical fandom stuff there is the better.
michaelandbrian - This is my corner of QaF fandom. I found that fandom to be indifferent at best and hostile at worst to those who don't either adore Justin and/or adore Brian/Justin. (the indifference is aimed at the few who ship other parings that don't concern either Brian or Justin and the hostility at anyone who ship a paring with either half of BJ that isn't BJ). Not saying everyone in the fandom is a jerk or anything, but the overall atmosphere is not one I find as conducive to my participation or consumption of given fandom. So, this comm is basically my corner of a fandom that's actually much larger than this rather quiet comm would suggest. I hate hiding in fandom "corners" but I've had my share of shipping wars and I don't wanna get into it again.
