"STOP THAT MAN STOP THAT MAN STOP THAT MAN" -- This is what I came home to at 10pm on the corner of Warren and Court. I am not sure what 'that man' had, but I believe it was a purse, or some other such personal effect. The girl kept screaming, and her crooning had the desired results; no less than fifteen people were running after some schmuck shortly before a cruiser from the good old 76th precinct took a wet corner at 75 going the wrong way on a one-way and hydroplaned out of control. I am fairly certain someone tackled the guy, and the cops dealt out justice, swift-like. Now that is community.
I really look forward to the after-Latin smoker chats. It is a strange dynamic of people. Some of them ARE actual college students of college student age, but there is the aging French PhD fellow, and a few re-college types, and of course me. I think everyone gets something out of the chats though. I would say it is the best part of my week. I get to be something resembling me, and indulge myself by interacting with a number of different personality types on a semi-intimate level. If only life were more like that.
