To be brutally honest I thought the movies were a waste of time and they all severely irritate me so far. But it’s not all just because I read the book and it wasn’t as good as the book. Don’t get me wrong, it is part of it. I just think all of the movies suck because the movie does not follow the story line at all.
If you didn’t read the book, you have no clue what is going on because the movie jumps around so much. The movie was made specifically for people who read the book. Why do we make movies? For people to watch. Reading a book should not be a requirement for a good movie experience. Not only is it annoying to the people who haven’t read the book, it’s annoying for the people who have to explain the whole movie to the people who don’t understand what’s happening.
Don’t get me wrong, the special effects and quality of movie were amazing. But why not do a better job with following storyline and fitting everything in? Not enough time? So make two! How many girls saw Twilight when it first came out? How many times did they go back to see it a second, third, or fourth time? How much money did Twilight make alone? How much money would that movie alone have made if they had made Twilight, and Twilight 2? What about New Moon, and New Moon 2? Difficult concept? I think not. Duh?
Also I think the casting was done poorly. No offence to Robert Pattinson, but Edward was, in my opinion, casted very poorly. Edward was supposed to be a drop dead gorgeous, more beautiful than a model kinda’ man. Don’t get me wrong, Robert Pattinson is good looking, for a man you’d see walking down the street. No were near drop dead gorgeous, more beautiful than a model. And again, no offence, but after seeing Taylor Lautner without his shirt on, Robert Pattinson was…. Not right for Edward. Just saying. And Edward was supposed to be all dark and moody, yes, but when he finds Bella he is supposed to lighten up, having found the love of his life. Did he in the movie? No. Why? Because Robert Pattinson didn’t think that Edward would really act like that. Who cares, he would simply because, sadly, it is a fiction movie after all.
So, at this point you cant really call me a fan, or a critical bystander. To be honest I’m not even going to see Eclipse until it comes out on red box or something because I refuse to support more than a dollar to these pathetic excuses for tweeny fan movies.
