Terry hated being home. He had hated it at his old house, and he hated it still in his new one with all the extra people always around. He wasn't used to having a pesky little stepsister, a somehow always topless stepbrother, or a nagging stepmother who was always asking him about laundry or some other pointless drivel in attempts to make

He was getting used to having Terry around. But he just couldn't get used to his new stepfather, always looking so stern and serious. It almost made him feel bad for Terry, growing up with a dad like that. Though, Drew knew he wasn't one to talk.
That morning he woke up realizing he had a completely open day. No plans meant he'd be stuck home all day. Thinking quickly he jumped out of bed and pulled on his running shoes. At least he could tire himself out with a long run.
Drew had been out for over an hour when he made it back to the house, mostly drenched in sweat at this point. It was hotter than he anticipated. Just as his mind was clearing, he spotted Terry in the yard. There was no way to avoid him.
"Hey, morning," he called, pulling his loose tank back on. It was easier to run with it off so he usually left it on the gate.

Terry nodded at the Gryffindor, "Morning," and then took another bite of apple.
"Do you actually enjoy running?" he asked, suddenly, trying to see if there was more to this kid than he had thought.
Reply
"It helps me clear my head. I sleep better at night too."

He shook his head, "Mate, I don't know how you could like it, it's so exhausting."

"My dad used to want me to be a rugby player so he'd have me running laps. It was terrible...and then one day it wasn't so bad anymore."
Reply
"All of a sudden, huh?" he questioned, actually wondering if that was true, if he could condition himself to like running. "Wait... what's rugby?"
Reply
"It's a muggle sport...played with a ball. But it's pretty violent," he explained. He had never liked it. Especially not the way he liked Quiddich.
"And yeah, I mean it's pretty tough at first, running I mean. Then your body adapts. I run a lot...I even see your girlfriend sometimes in the morning at school."
Drew had been trying to place her face a few weeks now and then one day it had hit him. She was one of the other morning runnings he saw around campus.

"Your dad wanted you to play something violent?" Terry mused aloud, wondering to himself what parent wanted danger for their young one.

"Is that why your sister is so tough?" he laughed, hoping Drew wouldn't take his comment wrong. Amanda was tough.

"I mean, she's cute and all, but... who the bloody hell supplies her all that itching powder?"

"Mum thinks she'll be a Ravenclaw. So you better watch out. Or at least point her in the direction of the Slytherins."
Then he realized what he had said. Just when they were getting along.
"I didn't mean it like that, mate."

Did he tell Drew how Daphne had surprised him? How he hadn't realized how amazing she was, because of how nasty her friends were?
Not yet.
"I could definitely see her as a Ravenclaw though, she's quite clever."
Reply
"Because clever is not the first word I would use for your girl....more like...well, smoking hot.Girl like that doesn't need brains."
Reply
Hadn't Drew just said something about Amanda becoming a Ravenclaw?
"I didn't take her as your type. I thought your type was more blonde... and bubbly. Like Mandy."
Daphne was smart... just not the book smart he was used to.
