Video Game Discussion-Survival Horror

I don't exactly know where I would like to go with this, and I will edit this post periodically later on because I'm kind of tired.

I'd like to discuss Survival Horror games. These are the following games I can think of that are fairly popular (or lack thereof)

-The Resident Evil Series
-The Silent Hill Series
-The Fatal Frame Series

You can also bring up the likes of;
-Siren
-Haunting Grounds
-Clock Tower Series
-D Series
-Alone In The Dark Series
Etc...

I don't know alot about Survival Horror games, but they have always interested me. I love Overblood and the first two Fatal Frames, and I'm just now realizing how much I miss the first two Resident Evils (even part 3, which I swore to hate for a long time...weird...) and the very little bit of Silent Hill 2 that I played through.

Just post what you think is good, bad, etc... about survival horror games in general, or specifically pertaining to a game. What makes Resident Evil so good? What was Illbleed to you? Are you a fan of Nightmare creatures?
