[Downtown in Raitou this afternoon and evening, there is a sizeable group of people in blue in front of a fairly large screen set to view a soccer game. It is loud, and there is a lot of fairly hilarious and irritating buzzing, but all in all it seems like a fantastic time to be had by all. The World Cup generally works that way ( Read more... )

There's a reason they don't do this every year, and I've always thought it was the vuvuzelas. After a week they stop being funny, and you never want to hear them again.

I'm satisfied anyway. I wish we had gone further, but we are ranked 47th in the world in the last ranking before the World Cup. For being that low, we did very well.
