It's been three weeks away and that is a long, long time. There were ups, downs and all-overs, but it was a good trip over all. I saw a lot of sights (and sites), so I know that sort of thing is never regretted by me. A good reminder that history is a lot longer and bigger than what we see in the good ol' US. Seems obvious, but needs to be experienced every once in a while.
In Italy we ate the entire country. We were very lucky that Mr. A's work paid for our B&B (an art deco quiet piece of gorgeousness that was unbelievable. Italians and design! Wow!) and all of our big, fancy-ass meals. We met a bunch of chefs and a bunch of people associated with Michael White. We stayed in White's training ground, a town called Imola, where the restaurant San Domenico has been pulling in Michelin Stars for many years.
I'm catching up fannishly. I've been reading fanfic and coding my Whitechapel fic. I hate the minutiae of posting, really hate it. And being a perfectionist doesn't help. Also have fics in progress for the overwhelmingly huge fandoms of Common Law and Ripper Street. I have no need to write Teen Wolf because
ladyofthelog writes all the good stuff for me!
I will possibly go back to Lewis with a re-watch and some fic. I'm LOVING LOVING Broadchurch with David Tennant, are you? And "In the Flesh", a superb zombie series that turns the genre on its head and features gay themes in a really gripping way. Speaking of zombies, Walking Dead is nearing it's season finale, finally. FINALLY. Sometimes more eps doesn't do a lot for a show. Which hopefully won't be the case for Teen Wolf, which has now, what? A run of 22? Yipes! Lots of wolfy glowering to come. Lost Girl! So cheesy and woman-powerful, it's like Italian cheesecake. Or something.
