On Sunday I saw "Lorna's Silence" and it was intense. Amazing how I can fall asleep to Hollywood blockbusters and yet be riveted by a movie that follows around a sour-faced character in simple settings with no music track or special effects and be RIVETED.
Let that be a lesson to us all.
On the other hand, I finally (finally) saw INCEPTION. And it was good, but you know, I kept waiting for it to knock me over and that didn't really happen. So now it is your duty, flist, your DUTY, to link me to the best and most awesome Inception fics so that I can get the good stuff.
Last night I went to an "industry party" with Mr. A at the new restaurant of Michael White - yes, the guy opened two restaurants this fall and he's not stopping. This one is in the Hotel Setai on 5th Ave and it's all that opulent, modern blah blah, you-can't-afford-this type of Hotel, and the restaurant is kind of beautiful.
Check out these gorgeous photos.
So yada yada, I was in work clothes and everyone else was all dolled up but I didn't let that get me down. Mr. A and I started in earnest on the drinks and by the end we were having a blast. Andrew Zimmerman was there, he's cool, and the chef from Morimoto, and some Top Chef guy from Season One, and a lot of other people I don't know or care about, but my husband does. And I met and talked to a lot of his co-workers so that was really nice. One girl told me "I'm afraid of Chef A!" And I started laughing pretty hard. My husband, the hard-ass. Lolarious, that.
THEN... I went downtown to see some tunes. Specifically, Matt Alber. Who is he, you ask? Well, I am glad you asked because he is the guy in THIS video, which I posted last year and is the best thing ever ever.

He's a lovely person, and his voice is incredible. Also present, three violinists and a cellist, all women, all pretty hot.
Okay, enough rambling. What are you guys doing?
