More, later.

I've been hiding out and not posting, it has been harder than usual to talk about regular stuff for whatever reason. But things are improving - I'm going home for Christmas (cue song) and there have been many enjoyable evenings with friends lately. I even got to produce and edit a video at work and was reminded of my actual career, being Actual, so that was at least encouraging if not normal for this gig.

Spent this slow work day, however, getting lustful over pictures and videos of Benedict Cumberbatch and it's SO SAD MUST STOP. You know that fannish spiral where you keep falling further and further and... yeah, you know what I mean. (Squinty eyes at Adam Lambert people). You start to feel a little helpless to its thrall.

So yes, I'm still loving Sherlock and its lovely fandom. Everyone is so nice, and there are many talented people playing there.

On the flip side, the DARK side, if you will, I cannot read a fic where John is referred to as "the little doctor." It's just not happening. I can sort of manage a few "the great detective said" or "the army doctor replied" even though I want to point to the posts wherein others were taken to task for repeatedly referring to "the blond vampire" (Spike) or "the brown-haired physicist" (Rodney) or "the soldier" (Shepherd) - don't get me started on "the taller man" in any sex scene.

But if that's all I have to complain about, let's face it, things are good.

sherlock, what to expect when you're alive
