this post has no redeeming value. really.

thank you to those of you (sam, specifically, although random members of family/random acquaintances also assisted...) who were kind enough to tolerate my never-ending argument over whether or not to buy the series collection of west wing for a little over $150. (short version: a coupon that expired today brought the series set, which can't be found *anywhere* (including amazon, walmart, ebay, etc...) for less than $175, down to $155 plus tax without shipping.) i did decide to do it, and i feel okay about it. still all buyer's remorsy (as ALWAYS, damn it), but i think it was the "right" decision (as much as spending $150 on tv shows can ever be "right"). i've also almost figured out the whole philharmonic subscription thing, and learned that my ipod will be ~$375 at most, and i can probably use my encore award ($200 amex gift card) towards that, although it'll make it a little more annoying. so that's cool.

i've already paid the vast majority of my bills for this half of the month, and am going to pay my car payment (which isn't due until the 13th of next month) this half as well, and will still have a solid chunk of change in my checking account once i deposit my brother's rent money for this half of the month. so seriously, i'm actually shaping up to be in pretty good shape, considering.

i know this is probably like, the dullest entry ever, but i was at work until 21.00 today for something that had very little to do with me, so my day isn't really worth talking about. i just wanted to announce to everyone (who cares SOOO much, i know) that i've started buying extravagant things with my refund, and i feel surprisingly okay about it. :)

mwah!
