[The sensation of unknowing has been present with him since the early hours of dawn. A strange sensation that caused him to wake from his sleep amongst the pillows of his make-shift bed and feel that something was simple off about the day the moment his eyes opened. There is nothing in the air that perturbs him, nothing visible but simply a feeling ( Read more... )

Something is seemingly off. I am not certain as to what it is precisely.

Fear will only perpetuate the situation. I advice against letting it effect you too the point of panic.

[Susan is secretly thrilled to see Malik back. She missed him.]

Strange how, as opposed to any other morning on this strange world?

[Its nice to see a familiar reply, that much is true.] Comparative to the rest of my experiences upon waking here, I am not certain that today would count within the normal realm of this rather unstable residence.

[Susan pensively sips her tea. She sees the flicker of a shadow out of the corner of her eye and ignores it.]

I feel I must agree with your assessment. I am not one to admit such things out loud but there is something about today feels...off.

[The text continues.] The only thing we can do is be wary of the situation that could worsen later. If we are not the only ones experiencing this unsettling sensation then it can be assumed there are many others.

[He's not a fool; the man is capable of realizing when something happens, and where it comes from. That morning he leaves the complex early because something is off, but he makes no warning to the other. There is this need to not raise suspicion without evidence, out of fear that paranoia will drive both of them further from where they need be.

So instead he slips into the shop without a word, and waits for the silence to settle itself before he moves. The device in the bag shakes at his side, but he pays in no mind and only clears his throat.]

Safety and peace, Malik.

[There is a moment he closes his eyes in attempts to keep the images from his mind. It is a quiet moment and there is contentment as the door sounds, the bell located above sounding in a melodious manner and the lids of his eyes slowly opening, his posture straightening and his gaze turning outward to the false shop that had been created to hide the upstairs involvements that he would rather keep away from prying eyes and citizens outside the order. It is their secret, and that is fine enough for him. The face that greats him though, is familiar, it is not part of this vision that seems to roll outside of his line of sight every-time he tries to catch it but he is no mystic and in turn, has his incense lit.

In regards to the assassin though, the dai bows his head in greeting.]

Greetings, Altaïr. You're around early this morning.

[To see the other unharmed set him in mild ease, but still things prodded at the back of his head. Adjusting himself accordingly, the assassin offered a nod and approached where the other was positioned. Bright pupils went to the source of the scent and he regarded it with a brief pause, before the reply in turn had him straightening back up.]

There is a sense of unrest - it drove me out.

[The direction of his gaze was noted and the dai simply allowed it. There was enjoyment to the art of the scent and each one had its own privileges, each one created a certain effect on the scenario at hand, the issue that needed to be settled by the presence of a particular smell. It was something that he enjoyed his knowledge of, and something that he enjoyed utilizing to its full extent to alter his mood, the tension in the air. The day had already started out tense, and with the words of the other, he paused and pulled his attention directly to the assassin.]

The same can be said for my own waking. Something is not right.

That I am not certain of. It has yet to develop.

Merely shadows of memory.
