[Ezio has been growing restless. Finally over the cold he had been getting, he has opted to spend the day anywhere but indoors. It's like being caged, sometimes, being within Aliunde, and yet being indoors all day while here is even worse. After years, decades, of running, climbing, jumping, battling, killing and fighting, barely surviving, and ( Read more... )

[One Assassin, coming in, and Ezio dives from one roof to the one Loki is on, slowing down his running and pausing at the sight of Loki. He doesn't quite know what to make of him, at the moment. He has read mythology books, he knows all about that, and yet Loki is trusted, at least by Ezio. He knows he is trouble, but it is better to have trouble as an ally than an enemy. He can, however, sense the uncertainty and questioning on the god, and approaches with caution, clearing his throat.]

May I join you? [He gestures to where Loki is sat, hood still up as he peers at him.]

[Ezio settles beside him, letting out a little noise at having a chance to sit for a moment.] You seem to have much on your mind, Loki.

[Ezio doesn't push, though he gives him a curious gaze. He knows that Loki probably has a lot of uncertainties about Aliunde as a whole, right now, so he will simply give him a chance to speak on things, if he so chooses.]

I tend to save my lectures for people who have not been punished, Loki. [He gives him a light smile, shaking his head faintly.] I am sure yourself and your brother have punished you enough.

[He does have a thing or two to say, however, and he gives him a look from under the hood.] You apologised, on the network, si? Why? Were you at fault for the creatures attacking or was it a test with no real danger? Was it something else entirely? [He knows about the Head Doctor's involvement at least.]

I am an assassin, not a torturer. We kill those who would harm others, we do not torment. Least of all those who know their mistakes and seek to change.

[Ezio just waits through the quiet time, and he looks at him when he speaks, listening to everything he has to say. He can't pretend to understand magic, but he does understand people, to a degree. He understands better than a lot of others would, given his honed intuition.] It was unintentional, but it did cause damage. My grandson was harmed in the battles. [He shakes his head a bit.] With power comes responsibility, and with that responsibility comes the threat of pressure. I do not know how your magic works, it is not something known in my world, not really, but letting your emotions get in the way of things like this is dangerous, ragazzo.

[He sighs a bit, absently fiddling with his left hidden blade bracer.] When I was young, I let my emotions get the best of me and it led me into a long life of revenge. I would not want to see that happen to you.

[Ezio lets him get it all out. He knows very well that interrupting when someone is like this is pointless. It'll make things worse. He does speak when it's all over for the moment at least, though he doesn't move from where he was sat, only drawing one knee up and resting his arm on it.]

Desmond sought the fight himself, he provoked the creature. He has been lectured for that. [He rolls his shoulders a bit, trying to think about how to word the things he wants to say. English isn't his first language, it's his third, if anything.] I do not think you should separate from your emotions either, Loki. You need to find a steady place between being overwhelmed and being unfeeling. It is difficult, and I still have not accomplished it entirely. [He raises a brow at the mention of learning about humanity.] Humanity is flawed, amico, but that is why we strive to be better. We are no gods, I am afraid.

[He sighs softly, shaking his head a bit.] I cannot tell you what happens then, Loki. You seek to try, that is all any of us can do. Life is ( ... )

I meant no offence, I simply do not know what to call your... ah, children. I have never seen anything like them before. [He listens but he can't help scoffing at Loki calling himself old. There is a distinct difference in being alive many years and being old.]

You are a boy still, not old at all. You have age, you do not have the weary experience an old man has. You have your life ahead of you. If you do not wish to change, then you must at least accept that the world itself will change without you. Time does not wait even for an immortal, amico mio, and putting blocks up for yourself will only lead to your own agony. [He looks over to him, frowning more. He wonders if Loki even realises that having the chance to be hated by his brother is a blessing in itself. Having lost both of his brothers and his father at a young age, Ezio doesn't enjoy hearing of people who shun and expect only the worst of the family they at least still have.]You do not truly understand what a parent feels, then. You speak of your child as if it should be ( ... )

You are presuming again, Loki. You may seek to end your life in the future, but no father who raises a boy as wise as you can be cruel enough to wish you dead rather than to wish for you to return under his wing. You have not spoken to him, si? So you do not know what it is he feels. Your father is King, this I know, and kings can be some of the most flawed men in history. They do not know how to do much beyond be kings, and so their love comes out wrong, their fears for their family weaken them, and their children suffer. I have seen many great men who have not known how to protect the ones they love. [Ezio sighs, and he actually can hear his heart pounding, though that is his own abnormal gift, the senses he has heightened beyond what a man should have.]

I sense the fear in you. [He looks at him pointedly then, and gets to his feet after a moment, pacing the rooftop while he thinks over his words so far.] If you love him, and he loves his brother in return, is that not enough to struggle through the pain, amico? You have spoken of ( ... )
