Hsin Yeow's thoughts: 钟爱一生 (Love For A Lifetime)
Irene and Alson were married two years ago, but put off holding the traditional banquet because Irene got pregnant soon after.
Well, I'm glad the two changed their minds, because I really enjoyed communicating with Irene and Alson. They were extremely friendly and easy-going. Both of them even brought their friends to One Rochester to support us. I remembered that they had such a good time they stayed until after our performance, which ended at 11.15pm!
When I saw them at One Rochester, Irene gave me a slip of paper which listed the songs she wanted to hear at the wedding. I was pleasantly surprised to see 第一个清晨 (The First Morning) by Lee Hom. It was a refreshing change from Lee Hom's huge hit, Forever Love, so I was glad to learn the song and perform it for the couple.
I also performed the following songs in succession: 心有独钟 (You're The Only One In My Heart), 钟爱一生 (Love For A Lifetime) and 放一颗心 (Rest Your Heart). To me, the three songs represent different stages of a relationship: the feeling of a crush is aptly described in 心有独钟 (You're The Only One In My Heart).
The next phase of being deeply, madly in love is vividly captured in 钟爱一生 (Love For A Lifetime), while 放一颗心 (Rest Your Heart) gives the assurance that love continues unabated even if your partner has to leave you for a while.
I chose to end the night's performance Close To You. It's a beautiful song that I won't ever tire of singing. And it is my wish that Irene and Alson will stay close to each other, physically and emotionally, for the rest of their lives.
