Hsin Yeow's thoughts: Unchained Melody
In spite of performing regularly, I sometimes do get butterflies in my stomach, and wonder if the guests would like our music.
So I was delighted when Eileen and Vincent's wedding guests responded so warmly to us. Warm applause followed after every song; one guest even stood up and smiled while clapping!
I have to thank Eileen and Vincent for choosing a great list of classic love songs and jazz standards that had something for everyone. The banquet and sound crew at Meritus Mandarin were also top-notch. We received excellent service, and I could not wait to perform there again.
It was clear to me that Eileen and Vincent really appreciated their guests for spending time with them. Right from the start, the couple wanted the emcees to pay tribute to all guests, especially those who had flown in from overseas. Eileen and Vincent also chose to walk around the perimeter of the ballroom for their second march-in instead of heading straight to the stage. I guess it was a deliberate attempt to acknowledge their guests seated far from the stage. What a great idea!
Congratulations, Eileen and Vincent! May you both enjoy a blessed marriage. Many thanks to Lynda (Vincent's sister) as well, for recommending us to the couple after attending Derrick's wedding.
P.S. In Vincent's speech, he had this piece of advice for all grooms, "When you're wrong, admit it. When you're right, keep quiet!" Wise words, indeed.
