Jun Xiong's thoughts: Can't Help Falling In Love
A sure sign that we are connecting to the audience is when we see them singing along with us. That moment came when a member of the audience requested the Elvis classic Can't Help Falling In Love. Since Ian and I knew the song well, we performed it to a very appreciative audience. Even those at the 'VIP' tables (family members of Denise and Terence) joined me as we sang the song in unison.
It was my first performance with Ian, a talented keyboardist who willingly took on the challenge of learning the repertoire and passed with flying colours. Juliet was my partner for the evening, and her level of professionalism was inspiring. When she sings, she is totally engrossed in the music, and puts her heart and soul into every lyric.
At the end of the dinner, Terence came up to us and gave compliments to our performance, saying that we totally changed his view of having Mandarin songs at a wedding banquet. Initially he thought it would sound strange, but, to his surprise, he enjoyed the mix of languages and genres very much.
Thanks for your compliments Terence, and congratulations to you and Denise!

Compliments from Denise:
Hi Hsin Yeow,
The band's performance was very good.
Kenneth and Carmen* enjoyed it too. My Canadian uncle requested a few songs, and the band sang them very well! Jun Xiong was also a good emcee.
* Denise and Terence engaged us after having heard us at Kenneth and Carmen's wedding.
