Wee Lai really takes good care of Xia Jia. Don't take it from me, read the words of the happy bride...
"We first met in 2006 when I was still working as a financial adviser and he was working in Queensway Shopping Centre. We didn't meet again until last year, when we happened to work together in the same company. We didn't remember each other but he was quite helpful to printing mock questions for this test I had to take. During one of our tea breaks, he was talking to his friend about working in Queensway, and I suddenly remembered him to be the guy I met back in 2006!
After that, we went to Vietnam on a company trip, and he took great care of me during the trip. And I guess that's when we developed feelings for each other and got together.
I like the fact that he is nice to everybody and he always gives in to me. He is smart and he can come up with so much nonsense that life is never boring with him.
He thinks that I'm cute and he likes the way I look at the animals (we went to the night safari and zoo together). He just likes me for who I am.
Oh, and I just can't stand it that my dog (Cookie) adores him even though he's very fierce to her sometimes. And everytime he sends me home, Cookie runs out to welcome him instead of me!
And he always waits for me to finish my mahjong sessions to send me home even though he has to wake up early the next day!"
After I read out extracts of the letter to Wee Lai, I asked him to serenade Xi Jia to show his appreciation. Wee Lai graciously agreed, even though I knew he was very nervous and had mild stage fright. The guests gave him their fullest support, and applauded enthusiastically when he finished crooning Can't Help Falling In Love.
Congratulations Wee Lai and Xi Jia! May you both fall in love with each other every single day!
