Serene's thoughts: 每天爱你多一些 (I Love You More Each Day)
All things simple and sweet...that is how I would describe the wedding of Sheryl and Tony.
The wedding was held in the Galleria Room of the Grand Copthorne Waterfront, an intimate ceremony comprising approximately 15 tables of relatives of friends.
Hosting a banquet in such a cosy setting meant the couple had more time to interact with their guests, and their friends and relatives could mingle easily. The ballroom was just abuzz with laughter and activity throughout the night. Everywhere I turned, guests were having fun at their respective tables, taking pictures, bantering, children running across the ballroom, the atmosphere was excellent, so much so that even the band felt completely at ease and immersed into the warm and friendly ambience of the evening almost immediately.
During the second march-in, Sheryl looked stunning in a champagne purple lace and beaded gown (take a look below!). It was the first time I noticed pink champagne being used at a wedding which not only complimented the bride's gown perfectly, and made the whole affair all the more sweet and romantic.
I was intrigued by a constant "paparazzi" group of relatives and friends standing in front of the stage to take pictures of the couple during both walk-ins and the champagne pouring segment, eager to snap special moments of the couple on their special day. I couldn't help but smile each time I saw that, as it just goes to show how well loved the couple is.
Junxiong did an excellent job as emcee for the evening, candidly breaking the ice after the first march-in by saying that he was taking care of both Channel 5 and Channel 8 for the evening. The band was headed by the one and only Feri alone on guitars, with myself and Junxiong on vocals, and it added a very personal, acoustic feel to the songs which I felt suited the setup of the banquet very well.
The crowd enjoyed the Cantonese numbers delivered by Junxiong such as <<追>> (Chase) and <<每天爱你多一些>> (I Love You More Each Day) and was really appreciative of the band's presence and music. Towards the end of the evening, we even had three little kids running up to us for dedications by JJ Lin, Jolin Tsai, and other pop hits!
Thank you Tony and Sheryl for having us at your wedding. The band thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and thank you for the appreciative responses we had throughout the evening. Our heartiest congratulations and best wishes!
