This month's been crazy and thus the lack of any posts whatsoever, but finally, finally holidays. I managed to animated an entire 3 minute short by myself, do a production portfolio and finish the fandom essay in this month, so it's been hectic like whoa.
Even more so because myself and
arlo_arleh were roped into joining the huge Disney cosplay for Supanova and thus had to create a Genie and Aladdin (moi) cosplay from SCRATCH in under a week. We managed it with three days of little sleep.
In fact I've just returned from Supanova, and for once I have TONS of awesome photos to share, which I shall in con report(s) in the coming days. One of the most bizarre experiences for me and Arleh this time around. We actually SLEPT between the days. We had cosplays finished before 2AM. We were going to bed at 2AM and just felt... so weird since we usually end up staying up till 5AM all weekend for these things trying to get things done, then waking at 8, sewing some more, then being late to the con. This time we had SLEEP. And then, WAS ON TIME. Our costumes were mostly done for Genie and Aladdin since they were relatively simple, and on the Sunday, all we had to do was resew Arleh's gloves from scratch to get the black backing for the plug suit, style the wig, create my One Day Shinji Costume for walking around so we could be THEMED and practice, practice, practice our skit.
... And that was easy. Easier than doing the entire Angel costume in one night (the mini-animania), easier than doing almost half of Arleh's gundam in one night (last Animania) in fact, I was so surprised I didn't have to kick her arse into infinity because of her inevitable procrastination I'm still in shock. We had many moments to reflect on this momentous occasion of punctuality for cosplay. It might never happen again.
We won a prize! Woo. In part it soothes me from our WCS loss, but at the same time, I really wanted to have fun this time, and without the pressure (and the fact we actually prepared a skit) it might not have mattered if we didn't win (of course I say this having won something so I am biased biased biased). Still, it was certainly less stressful than the Mini, and I had an unhealthy amount of fun.
In fact I may be offically funned out.
It was a good weekend. :D
