I spent 3 hours playing Monopoly.
Highlander: The Source
On the plus side, this movie is a completely different tone to all the movies that have come before it, it is darker and doesn't try to hide the killing behind a front of justice. It doesn't look like the usual Highlander movie which is firmly set in reality (mostly the 80s or early 90s), it feels like a comic book. In fact I feel the film makers played a little too much Silent Hill 4 because it looks exactly like that, complete with pyramid head and weird B movie creatures.
On the down side, it is the lamest thing I have ever watched. Someone went INSANE with the colour grade, the entire movie was either ORANGE, BLUE or GREEN, in caps, with nothing in between. Some scenes you could see nothing at all for all the 'artistic' blurring, shaky camera work, and just plain bad lighting. I don't know if they colour graded it so much to hide the actor's ages or just because they're insane. It was annoying, mostly because it shielded everyone's eyes until they were just black pits and all the delicious eye fucking and meaningful looks that usually pass between Duncan and Methos were lost.
Then again, Methos was amazingly bitchy in this film, maybe because he was jealous of the presence of Duncan's convenient girlfriend who of COURSE wants children. I don't see why these people can't adopt. There is always the storyline of wah wah wah I love you, but I must LEAVE YOU for we cannot have children together. Making me scream at the screen, Lady, if you really loved him, you'd fucking adopt.
The soundtrack was hilariously bad. Random bouts of BADASS rock music. Topped by the one and only QUEEN in a montage sequence. I loled until I cried as PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE played.
The ending was the same ending every Highlander movie gives to THE ONE. Childishly I hope that one day Highlander THE ONE will go against Jet Li's THE ONE and the ending wouldn't consist of reaffirming a main character's heterosexuality while poor Methos is left to deal with his horse.
Is there post-Source fic out there? Sadly, I'm so nerdy I still want to know if Duncan retained his Immortality, if his kid was Immortal, or he was only Immortal so long as he's bathed in the White Light Of Spawnination. I also want to see whether Methos will live up to his role as the bad Uncle. Because I live to see that twitch in Macleod's eye. :D

Why: This captured that sense of 'quaint' that the Pratchett books excel at, as well as being lovely and laugh-out-loud funny. It also made me grin for hours afterwards, because I never thought ' Courting Death' can be written to mean something so crackishly romantic.
A Year In The Life by Alchemine
Fandom: Batman Begins
Summary: Bruce falls through the life of Bruce Wayne like a ghost, not touching anything and leaving no mark.
Why: The thing I love most about Batman fics is the efforted needed to read between the lines and then to poke and prod at the edge where Bruce Wayne ends and Bruce begins.
