I AM THE BOOKEND AT THE END OF THE WORLD.

X/1999 fans, I just have to point out THIS awesome icon of X in a nutshell. It puts other icons to shame. Pretty SeishiroxSubaru icons with cherry blossoms have NOTHING on this.

And, A tribute to Steve Irwin that makes me chuckle and go aw.

VID REC:
Closer by Eeetstomoch
Why: Because it completely rapes my childhood memories of STAR TREK in the most brilliant way possible. Kirk x Spock, with some mind boggling composition and fitting lyrics. Done in sepia so all the scenes FIT together in a way no other vid has done for me, making every juxtaposition sensical and gloriously twisted. It's like something taken out of an old horror/Noir film, except I KNOW it's Star Trek making it all surreal and wonderful. I did a massive LOL when I saw this, but I can't help but love the craziness that is this vid. It's R rated on You tube, so I think you may need an account to see it, but totally worth getting an account to see THIS.

DOGMA (how Happy am I to find fic in this fandom I haven't read? Words can't express.)

Three Years by Kyra Cullinan
Rated: PG-13
Characters: Rufus-centric, Jesus, the Apostles
Tantalising Quote: Rufus was alone for just about five seconds when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Peter didn't go around touching everyone, so Rufus figured it wasn't him. A quick glance at the dark fingers confirmed that.
"I'm sorry," Rufus muttered.
Jesus let his arm fall to his side as he stepped next to Rufus. "There's no need to apologize."
"C'mon. You can't be okay with me going all crazy on Peter."
"To be honest," he smiled, "I'm used to it."
Why: It's RUFUS FIC. From DOGMA. With JESUS on a cracker. This is perfect Chris Rock-voice. Not many people can write Chris Rock but this is simply amazing. This is the Apostles in their travels with JC, with perfect Kevin Smith characterisation and storyline. Every line just bites with wit and sharp perfection making me flail about in *love*.

Samurai Champloo (boy, it's a day for fandom wandering huh? Another fandom I don't find enough fic on But when I do. DAU-UMN.)

The Barbless Hook by lynnmonster
Pairing: Jin x Mugen
Rating: NC-17
Why: Post Series. Jin is stuck in a rut doing boring bodyguard jobs. This of course calls for Pirate Mugen to raid his ship. No really. Pirates. They're PIRATES. This has great plot and flow and sex and tension and emotional impact, but really, the simple fact they're PIRATES (Samurai sword weilding Pirates even) completely does it for me. This is glorious, a fun, wacky read, that makes me glow a little inside with *happy*.

DC:

Intricate Days
Pairing: Nightwing x Superboy (but since most of my flist doesn't follow general DC canon, Nightwing in this case means the fucked-up AU version of Jason Todd. Oh yes.)
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Time Travel makes Kon's head Hurt
Why: This was an EXHAUSTING fic to read. It is simply brilliant with time travel (my bulletproof kink), the crackish pairing of Jason and Kon and the simple insanity that is trying to get them together when both of them are so *volatile*. I... I don't think I can actually articulate how gorgeous this fic is. It messes with your mind in the best way, and did something no other author has managed for me, make me sympathize with Jason (I'm one of the people that probably would've gladly killed him off just for shits and giggles). But this fic? Works. Kon's voice in this is perfect, and Jason is just the other side of insane. The fic reads well even if you don't know all the insider details about DC canon, but when you do, it's like a series of what ifs and in not-jokes. It's raw and intense and deliciously, exhaustively long. I love it.

MEANWHILE:

There is a chocolate bar in the fridge.

I have no idea how it got there, I certainly didn't buy it, and I live by myself.

... should I eat it?
