Despite the week I've been having, I was able to complete three brand new pieces and each has been uploaded onto Deviantart. Here's a preview:
Zara Clarke by ~

deviantART Zara's skin is actually a bit more mocha colored than that, but out of the pens I had, this was the closest I could come to. It worked out well and I like where this piece ended up. Zara was captured perfectly. It was a bit of a task to outline, if only because it's been so long and my back still isn't accustomed to me working again. It's getting easier the more I do, though, and that is definite improvement.
Cassandra by ~
AliceSpades on
deviantART Cassandra is another character from my novel, "These Chains that Bind." She has only a minor role in this particular story line; she and Aurora have a strong dislike for each other. It's a mutual feeling that was established the moment the two met. Cassandra may not be a favorable character, but she is pretty and I wanted to draw a mermaid. Ta-da.
Ymber by ~
AliceSpades on
deviantART This is Ymber, who is a character I created for a role play I had going with my sister. It was one that lasted many years and the story developed into a crazy labyrinth of plot lines. And it all started with this vampire and my sister's. I actually think Ymber was one of the first vampires I ever created.
What does she have her hand resting on? A chair. Randomly inserted for the sole purpose of letting her rest her hand there. That's right.
Like I said, it's been a bit of a work out this week. My land lady is a little off the deep end, so to deal with her shenanigans, I dived into my work. It paid off, too. Now I have some more lovely work presented on my devianart page and I have a very decent gallery going on.
I am hoping following this path will lead me out of this dank place (and away from that crazy woman) and onto a more exciting road and a home where I can actually relax and get some real work done.
One day!
Until that day, I'm here and here is where I will work. I've been getting a lot done and I am feeling more and more accomplished everyday. The second novel is slowly falling into place, but I had to return to note cards and re-vamp some things and move others. I don't think I'll have to re-start the beginning, but there are a few changes I have to make in the beginning chapters and move on from there. Some is going to disappear entirely. Yikes. Sometimes I really have to tear it apart before I can build it again. It'll work out, I'm not worried.
I am also planning a lot more artwork to be doing. There are a lot of characters who deserve to be displayed in all their glory, but it's always hard to decide who to do first. So I've been trying to categorize them according to who I want to draw first and those who are important in the story line of the first novel. So far, Aurora, Madyson, Zara, and Cassandra have been done. I do, however, want to draw a better one of Aurora, and probably will do plenty of that, but that's for later on. Charlie's been touched up on the computer, but I'd rather to a brand new piece. Same goes for Danika. That leaves Apollo (who I am dreading on drawing if only because of his fur), Richard, Magister, Antton, Feste... possibly Fredrick. I should also do an epic piece of Vincent because that man is beautiful and everyone needs to see why Aurora's so in love with him, lol!
There are probably a hundred others who haven't even been listed, but they're very far on my back burner. Right now I need to get the most prominent characters out there and capturing an audience. They're the ones who are going to gather the fans. Ha ha.
Ugh, and this heat! Damn Southern California and it's constant hot flashes! I am not made for the heat and have been in this part of the world for much too long. My body is melting, lol! I'm hoping tomorrow won't be so hot because I don't enjoy sticking to my artwork.
Anyway, I am very excited for the new art I will be doing soon. Tomorrow, I start on another!
