EXCITING NEWS!!!
Ok so I was kinda bummed about mising the BIGGEST POLITICAL RALLY in Iowa history where Josh Hartnett was present.. But I had to study for my statistics test, which I got 92/100 by the way.. YES ALISON GOT AN A ON A MIDTERM.. Fabulous :)
But tonight I'm volunteering down at headquarters, and Erica is like, "Alison, check this out!" and she hands me a flyer.. Ohhhh baby...
LEONARDO DiCAPRIO is coming to campus on Thursday!!!!!!!
He is speaking on behalf of John Kerry.. And I was like "Oh my god.." And she's like "Yeah, if you want to make out with him, I can arrange that."
And we started laughing.. But seriously. I will meet LEONARDO DiCAPRIO in TWO days... Holy shit. I love election years :) And I love volunteering.. Even though my ear hurts from being on the phone so long..
But tonight we were calling other volunteers to get them signed up for the big weekend and election day.. And people aren't very excited to talk to you b/c you're just bugging them in a way.. Even though they're for Kerry and the Dems and everything.. They just would rather write a check or drive people around.
But I called this one guy.. And he was sooo excited that I was calling. And he's like "Thank you for your hard work. We're going to win because of people like you." And not only did he sign up for one shift, BUT TWO!!
It just made my night :)
My mom asked me last week what I'll do if John Kerry loses... I don't want to think of the thought. I'm sure I'd shed some tears, just because I'm scared of what will happen with Bush in office another term... With terrorism and everything. It's frightening...
But it'll be quite a disappointment. All this hard work, and him not elected? I don't know what to think about that...
So we'll just keep working harder and harder :) And GET HIM ELECTED!! WOOHOO! :)
