Slept some more after getting home tonight. Then I decided that I was hungry and decided to go out. I needed to return some movies anyway:
- Lost in Translation:
Really good movie. I really like the way this movie made me feel.
- Mulholland Dr:
This movie was really strange. It isn't one of my most favorite movies, but I really did like

Hm.. I'm in the midst of compiling a list of my favorite movies. I'll paste what I've got so far here:
• Ran (It's incredibly difficult for me to narrow down to one Kurosawa film, but this is his apotheosis.)
• Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind (Likewise, choosing one Miyazaki film is painfully trying.)
• Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Yes, I still like this more than Hero.)
• The Wicker Man (Everything about it is absolutely charming.)
• Baraka (I have to appreciate a film that includes my favorite Dead Can Dance song.)
• Mulholland Dr. (The quintessential David Lynch movie.)
• Tokyo Story (A brilliant example of subtlety in filmmaking.)
• 2001: A Space Odyssey (The first appearance of the black monolith still makes my spine tingle.)
• Visitor Q (The best attack on "reality" TV I've seen.)
• 28 Days Later (Like Straw Dogs as a zombie flick.)
• End of Evangelion (The TV show is prerequisite, but this goes far beyond anything in those 26 episodes.)
• Fallen Angels (Wong Kar-Wai is the god of nocturnal, bittersweet reverie.)
That's what I've got so far, anyway. You should see all of those.
If Death Threat ever broke up before I could see them play live, I think I probably would just have a heart attack.
I know how that is. Too many many that I would have loved to see live have broken up already. Several of my very favorite bands stopped making music before I got around to really appreciating them. Like Dead Can Dance, Swans, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, etc. -- I'd give anything to see them live, once, but they've been done for years...
I MUST see Godspeed before they've called it quits.
