I've been busy. Like, for reals busy.
I'm the apprentice to the fearless leader of APO Book Exchange, which means that I'm in training to be fearless leader next time we do the exchange. This involves a lot of taking people's drop-off books, poking other APO brothers to do things, advertising to both sellers (upperclassmen) and buyers (everybody), moving piles of books around in the office, coordinating with the people at Quantum Books (new feature this year O.O)... it's more than I'm used to, I guess. The office looks like the back room of a used book store.
(On the plus side, the office looks like the back room of a used book store!)
This on top of other normal beginning-of-year crap like getting my stuff organized in my room, figuring out my class schedule / meeting with my advisor, and doing social things with hallmates and learning everybody's name.
Also, checking my email every half hour. Oh, term-time email traffic, how I have missed thee.
But I like it this way. It's nice to have a social life. It's harder to be depressed when running here and there getting things done. It's easier to be excited about classes that aren't general requirements. It's exciting to be able to paint my room or my hall. It's nice to know my way around, both physically and in terms of "who do I talk to in order to do X".
Here's to a better year than last year.
