Sunday Six Sentences

Mar 25, 2012 10:02

Each Sunday, post six sentences from a writing project -- published, submitted, in progress, for your cat -- whatever.

Original:

“I worry about you.”

His expression softens, and he ducks his head; he’s blushing, and she’s simultaneously irritated and amused at how he can still be so boyishly innocent.

“It’s not that…sometimes…”  He fumbles across words and waves his hands in the air.

“What?”  She brushes her fingers against his cheek; he leans into her touch, and her heart skips a beat.

“I like being here with you.”

Within six words, he manages to completely shift her world a little more.

Fanfic:

It’s not until two glasses later that Sophie looks ready to talk again.

“I’m sleeping with him.”

Maggie blinks.  Jealousy surges first before she remembers that she left him; she forces herself to not take another long swallow of wine because she does not deal with her problems with alcohol, and she takes a calming breath.

She says the only thing she can think of, “And?”
