Kyle pressed his fingers to his forehead in an attempt to get his current headache to go away. He had been trying to get these headaches to go away, especially since they’d been attacking him all week. It was just one headache after another, and the blonde really wanted them to go away, especially since they distracted him from his drumming and from his boyfriend.
“Kyle?” Caleb stepped into the backroom of the bus, keeping his voice down so that he didn’t cause Kyle’s headache to bother him even more. “How are you feeling?” Kyle shrugged lightly as he closed his eyes, trying to get the pain to go away. “Do you need some Advil?”
“No,” Kyle said as he shook his head. “I took some already, but it’s not working.” Caleb sighed as he reached over to the windows and pulled down the blinds, making the area darker for Kyle.
“You know, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say these are migraines rather than headaches.” Kyle shrugged slightly before he pressed his fingers to his forehead once more, rubbing his temple. Caleb moved so that he was sitting next to Kyle. “Come on,” he said as he placed his hands on Kyle’s shoulders and gently tugged him down. “Lay down. I’ll help you fall asleep.”
Kyle bit down on his lip lightly before he allowed Caleb to maneuver him into a laying position so that his head was in Caleb’s lap. The red head smiled slightly as he began to gently run his hands through Kyle’s hair. “Close your eyes, Kyle,” he said softly as he looked at him, smiling slightly. “I’ll help you, okay?”
“I don’t need sleep, Caleb,” Kyle told him softly as he closed his eyes, pressing his face into his boyfriend’s knee. “I just need this headache to go away.” He hated the way his head was pounding right now, screaming at him practically, but at the same time, he semi-liked the headache because it meant that Caleb would take good care of him, that he’d get to play the pampered role for once, and while he enjoyed taking care of Caleb, he liked this. He liked the feeling of Caleb’s hands in his hair too, but he wasn’t really thinking about that.
“It’ll go away,” Caleb assured him as he smiled gently. “Just close your eyes and relax. I’ll help make the mean, old headache disappear.” He continued to gently run his hand through Kyle’s hair, playing with the soft, silky blonde strands of hair as he did so. Kyle leaned in to Caleb’s touch and let out a quiet sigh. Despite the fact that his head was pounding, he was actually feeling a little bit better thanks to his boyfriend’s gentle touch.
Caleb pulled his hand out of Kyle’s hair and pressed a gentle kiss to the palm before he lowered his hand to Kyle’s cheek, placing his kiss there. “Thank you,” Kyle whispered as he reached his hand up to Caleb’s, holding it against his cheek. “I love you, Caleb.”
“I love you too, Ky,” Caleb said softly as he smiled at him. “Now go to sleep; get rid of that headache. I’ll be here for you when you wake up.”
“Promise?” Kyle asked as he reached out and laced his fingers through Caleb’s, holding gently to the red head’s free hand.
Caleb smiled gently as he freed his hand from the sandwich between Kyle’s hand and his cheek before going to gently smooth down the blonde’s hair again. “Promise,” he told Caleb softly. “Now go to sleep.”
Kyle smiled slightly as he tried to fall asleep, but he knew that he couldn’t until he told Caleb one final thing. “Cay,” he said softly. “I’m sorry for being so distant this week. Too many headaches.”
“I know,” Caleb said softly as he smiled at Kyle. “It’s okay. I just want you to feel better, Kyle. Now go to sleep?”
“Now I’ll go to sleep,” Kyle promised as he grinned to himself. As he drifted off to sleep, Kyle knew that he couldn’t imagine having a more perfect boyfriend, one who was able to get rid of his headaches with a few gentle words and calming touches. He loved it.
